Didnt see it myself, but bakes has broken his nose some how, and a 'reliable' Fremantle official has come forward saying that he saw the incident.

Not sure how the tribunial is going to see this one, but fingers cross theres not enough evidence to rub bakes out, because we need him big time!

Anyone else see it? and what are your thoughts on the matter?
 
For a moment reading that, I thought Baker had his own nose broken in the incident as well as Farmer. He can't go, they can't charge him if no one has seen it. And in response to the claim that we need him, I don't believe we do. Attard can come back into the side and do a more than servicable job on a WC midfielder. He would also give us more going the other way because Bakes, as much as I love him, is an ordinary-at-best kick of the footy and doesn't have the height that an Attard would provide to take a grab around the ground. I would love to have Baker in the side this week but I think he can be easily replaced.
 
yea i disagree baker is always as asset and when we're playing against some of the best midfielders in the comp we want our best taggers on them and form would suggest out best tagger is baker.

Yeah, you're right. He's a great asset but by no means do we need him to win. He's not a Jon Brown where he is the general of the side and we can't win without him. Anyone who seriously thinks that we can't win without Baker is delusional.

ordinarily i would probably agree but were playing the eagles here and we dont have harvey or hudgton. having him would improve our chances immensly given the job hes done on judd in the past.
 
its not that we cant win without him, its the toughness he brings to the side that an attard cant.bakes is a solid kick and his capable of kicking the odd goal and taking a mark. we definatley need, although we can win without him.
 
Interesting that he has to go straight to tribunal which means it could inccur a penalty worse or on even par with the Ben Johnson penalty. possibly looking at 6 to 9 weeks.
 
The only way Baker gets off is if he didn't do it or he lies.

The Freo officials statement is enough to get Baker to the tribunal.

Once there he gets cross examined.

Question: Did you make contact to Farmers head, yes or no?

If he answers yes he's gone for at least 1 - 2.

If he answers no, didn't see anything, then a second eye witness is needed.

All that needs to be proved is Baker made contact, even accidental will be hard to prove and the amount of damaged caused is severe.

Hope he gets one week (Plus an OBE for services to the community). He's a good player who always tags one of our guns and does a good job, you mob should rate him higher.

Can you win without him....yes.
 
BAKER=Sniper, he's gone and deservedly so. He'll be looking over his shoulder next time he comes up against Farmer and I reckon a few of the brothers will have him on their hit list.

Why is that, is it because all your snipers will be out to get him. Bakes is probably the last guy one of your snipers would want to take on. Tell the Carr brothers to stick to players like Fiora coz Bakes wouldn't back down.

Are you saying an account from a biased witness is proof enough?

If the roles were reversed, I wouldn't be holding out much hope, but if there is one AFL player who could can get done on assumptions or from an account from a biased witness, or an "attempted" infringement, or with justified provocation to get done anyway ... it's Bakes.

I reckon Bakes'll get 15 to life with no parole.

Good on Baker. We should start a collection for him. Rubbed out one of my least favourite players and gets himself suspended for the next match against the eagles. couldnt have done better :thumbsu:

Being an essendon supporter, I thought I saw judd, cousins, embley, cox, braun, kerr, hunter, priddis, wirrapunda, jones, selwood, etc smoking pot together, will that get them rubbed out with the possibility of us playing the wce 3rds and a chance to win. Wrong FBI-AFL, Wrong. wake up to the facts, you sold the rights to the football, it only takes 2 cameras to cover a ground yet for $???B you cant manage to do that. Demetriou and your sheep your a JOKE...

atleast, for our benifit, Kerr isnt playing i only hope judd also has the decentsy to sit thsi one out aswell
