Apparently has agreed to a one year deal with the club, on the condition that his body holds well and no major injuries. I read this in The Age i think on Friday. (I have no link)

Regardless of that, do you think it's a good idea that King plays for one more season?

I actually thought he was getting very close to father time, with myself expecting him to retire along with Max. I was anticipating that Micheal Gardiner would go on for one more year, with McEvoy getting more time in the ruck.

I am actually not sure about this. King will be 31 next year and already does look very slow and tired around the ground. King still does provide a good contest in the ruck. However, the days of ruckmen getting 30 hitouts, but providing little around the ground are just about finished. Rucks have to be another possession winning like midfielder almost. Then King does have a long injury history, although this has improved with his time at the Saints and under the guidance of fitness regime of David Mission.

King going on one more year? Yes or No?

I thought he had signed a contract for next year?

You'd think he'd probs retire if we won the flag.

Yes I want him to go on.

Macca's breakout year will be 2011. Next year I want him to do what he's done this year. Fill in for Gardi and King. Getting a few games, bulking up and tearing shit apart for Sandy in the VFL with his counterpart Stanley...

Gardi and Mac dominate for a year, Gardi calls it quits after we go back to back.

And Stanley and Macca guide us to the three-peat with Armo and Jack ripping it up!

...

Well I can dream.

I reckon by halfway through next year McEvoy would be about on level terms with King. I like having him in the team, but it would be dissappointing for everyone if Big Ben overtook huim and King played out the rest of his career in the VFL.

If we win the flag I reckon he'd choose to go out on a high note, which would probably be the right time imo.

Earlier in the year I would've said he should definitely play on, but Big Ben has been getting better every week and played his best game yesterday. Next year I'd like to see Ben get the second ruck role. Also with reports on Stanley playing well for Sandy every week he must be pushing for a spot.

Hopefully he wins the flag with us and can go out on a high.

LOVE IT!! Couldn't have said it better.

A resounding yes for mine. He's a mile in front of Mac as a ruckman; his work around stoppages is better than Gardiner too. He's not as mobile, but realistically can't get much slower, and as long as his body holds up has another year at the top level still in him.

I bet the Cats would like to still have him about now ... :D
