Brad Ebert requests trade from StKilda

In breaking news, StKilda's Brad Ebert has asked the club if he can be traded during the trade period. With the recent inclusions of Andrew Lovett and Ben Cousins, too go along with the exciting midfield of Adam Cooney,Nick Dal Santo, Scott Pendlebury and Alan Didak, Ebert believes he will have limited opportunities in 2010.
"Obviously we are disapointed about Brad's decision to request a trade,he's an exciting young talent, but we will help him in his search for a new home" said Shaun Duggan outside of Titan headquarters.
It is expected that StKilda would seek a key forward in return for Ebert or a first round draft pick. Fellow youngster and first round draft selection Phil Davis has been reported to be home sick and is interested in heading home to South Australia, no formal talks have begun yet.

Trade week glance

Changes have been flowing at the StKilda Titans since coach Shaun Duggan has taken over, so far he has brought in 7 new faces, including superstar Ben Cousins. Shaun Duggan was available at a club function and had the following words about his moves thus far

"Coming in to a club with a great squad, that maybe underachieved last year, i was looking to build it up, when we snared Ben Cousins the smile couldnt be wiped off my face, his leadership qualities are second to none and will be great for this club. Obviously today we were disapointed at the news both Brad Ebert and Phil Davis requested a trade, but the upside is we landed Shaun Burgoyne in the Ebert deal, at 27 years if age he is at his peakk so 2010 will be exciting for him, along with Andrew Lovett whom we got earlier in the week. 2010 is going to be an exciting year for the StKilda Titans"

Shaun Duggan also hinted that he wasnt quite done with trading yet and was still very interested in bringing a key position forward to the team, its rumoured StKilda ahs inquired about the uncontracted Barry Hall and is interested in Richmonds Josh Kennedy.

2009 National Draft

The StKilda Titans have completed their participation in the 2009 National Draft using 4 picks. With their first round pick (10), the Titans jumped at key forward John Butcher. He's an exciting young talent and the Titans would like for him to play senior footy in hos rookie year. With pick 43 they selected beanpole ruckman Max Gawn. StKilda are hoping with time he will work his way into the number one ruck position. Pick 60 was the hardest for StKilda as they had to choose between young forward Brayden Norris and dashing half back flanker Anthony Long. Long would have been a steal in the 4th round as he was tipped to go mid 2nd round, but in the end StKilda was after a forward in Norris. His work rate and quickness are key attributes, equalling a beep test record set by Jarrod McVeigh. It was expected that Stkilda would leave the last spot on the list for a PSD pick but they handed young midfielder Sam Reid a second chance with pick 71.

Harley retires, Roe delisted

The StKilda Titans have confirmed the retirement of Tom Harley, Harley decided that the future looked bright and that him playing would prevent the young kids like Tom Williams, Stefan Martin, Alex Rance etc from developing their game. One the same day Jason Roe was delisted. With the trading in of Dale Morris,Stefan Martin and Rance, it was an indication the Titans were going in a different direction to previous years.

With those two moves it leave two spots on the senior list for picks in the PSD, it is not known what the Titans will go for in the draft, but mature age players to top the list up would be best suited. The Titans may have up to 6 rookie picks as well depending on salary cap.
