StKilda finish off the trade period with a flurry

StKilda bolstered its list with some last minute trades. The first saw Heath Shaw leaving the club and in return the Titans received experienced backman Lindsay Gilbee. Shaws name had been mentioned right through trade week especially when he wasn't seen at a club family day. There was also draft picks exchanged in the deal. Also arriving at the club was up coming midfield star David Mundy. Mundy had been traded to Geelong from Adelaide but then ontraded to StKilda for draft pick 31. It is believed StKilda is extremely happy with this deal and makes their midfield even stronger with Sam Mitchell arriving earlier in the trade period. In a last minute trade, Port Adelaide's Marlon Motlop was exchanged with Clayton Hinkley.

With the trade period finished StKilda has traded for ready made players and on paper looks a lot stronger than the 2010 season in which they were minor premiers. They boast argubally the best midfield in the competition as well as a very exciting forward line. The ruck division is also strong which will be lead by Mathew Kruezer on return from a knee reconstruction. Rumours are circling about the captaincy and the names being mentioned are Nick Dal Santo and Scott Pendlebury. One final delistment will be made and that will be of Beau Dowler who arrived this trade period but it appears the club doesn't believe he is required for 2011 afterall.
