I don't know about everyone else but I am sick to death of ********s ****ing up everything in this country for everyone else. Here are my points

1) Racism A - Indian bashing... I mean WTF and why? No point. If you're after kicks why limit it to a particular race.

2) Racism B - European clashes... Croats vs Serbs vs Bosnians vs whoever... who cares. I have grown up with many 1st and 2nd generation people from these countries and they've never had an issue. Now all of a sudden a small group of the 3rd/4th generation 15-25yos think they have to "fly the flag" in a piss contest on the world stage. Export the lot of them back to their "homeland" I say... fly the flag there... and watch how quickly they turn to water. Also take you fricking "Flares" out to sea and drown yourselves... don't bring them to sporting events. No-one thinks "you're cool".

3) Drinking - In General... Australian's all love a drink... but no-one... NO-ONE likes an angry drunk. You just **** it up for everyone whether you're at the Cricket, Tennis, BBQ at a park, party or a night-club. LEARN YOUR LIMITS PEOPLE... know how much will take you from fun loving larikan to viloent knob and keep it at the former level.

4) Nightclub violence... Ok apart from your butt sniffing mates... no-one else cares how "gansta" you are. Nightclubs/pubs are there to go out, have some drinks, have a dance and/or hopefully hook-up. You want to prove how tough you are... take your pussy arse into a fighting ring (Boxing, Martial Arts... whatever). Nothing tough about 3 people (with concealed weapons) beating the crap out of some poor guy in a queue because he starred vacantly in your direction.

As an Australian I want to be able to:

- go overseas without people thinking I am a racist w***er
- go to a sporting event without being patted down and scanned.
- go to a sporting event without caged fencing.
- go to a nightclub without fear of getting the crap smacked out of me.
- go to a nightclub after 3am.
- be able to drink on Australia Day.
- go to an Australia day event and drink without the riots.
- and eat lamb on Australia Day

So those minority arseclowns who are contributing to the above... tone it down and stop screwing it up for everyone else in this country.

agree with what most of has been said, i beleive this is a reulst of a generation/s of kids being melicoddled (sp?), into thinking they are the centre of the universe and that no one can tell them what to do, as well as a weak justice system.

:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu: Could not agree more with everything you have said.

When I saw the thread title I assumed I was about to read a small minded, racist rant. I was pleasantly surprised, well said:thumbsu:

Agree with all of that.

Unfortunately though, it is going to get worse before it gets better because the Australian Government does not give a flying ****.

Agree with all of that.

I guess why I posted, and what I am hoping for, is that... it shouldn't have to be governed any further at any level.

It is just common fricking sense.

I just hope that through this OP and through people spreading the word. That word will reach the offenders that the above "isn't cool" and they are screwing it for all of us if they continue. If authorities at various levels have to "step in" and do something to restrict these tools... then already it is screwed for the rest of us (see my OP closing paragraph).

As I said... if you know anyone doing the above, objectively try to get them to tone it down a little within respectable boundaries, so authorities don't have to 'do something' that impedes on the rest of us.

Cheers.

How do you know? I'm not going to say they all aren't, because that would be as stupid as saying they all are ... but none of the evidence I've read indicated racism.

Because I know a person who was on the receiving end of one. They copped a fair bit of abuse before they were bashed.

I also know of a person who dished one out. Thankfully, that person was caught, although unfortunately not much was done.

Fantastic Post:thumbsu:

Agreee with everything you say, althought the "racist" Indian bashing most likely had nothing to do with race.

If you got the percentage of "white" people being bashed vs the percentage of the rest being bashed I'm pretty sure you'd find that it would show an inverse relationship with the percentage of the races of people in Australia.

Just because a few people bashed someone and he just happened to be Indian, doesn't make the 20 something million other people racist too.

Luckily, you got one of those 1 post down.

If we ignore him, maybe he will go away.

Not sure how he pulled out that multi culturalism had failed from the OP.
Right, you read "racist" out of multi"cultural"ist.

Culture is different to race, you ignorant "poster." (Am adhering to left-wing posting criteria) Someday, you will realise that.

Love how you people constantly revert to easy critisisms of racism when you have nothing else to rely on.

I pulled race out of the OP because it was the primary reason he created the OP in the first place.

Or, you could understand that race is actually important to many people, especially non-whites, but that would be a massive gap for you to cross, eh?

I dont think you are intellectually up to it.

We can't exactly talk after what happened up in NSW a few years ago.
Aussies aren't exactly great role models at the best of times so let's not go giving orders on how society should or shouldn't act.
Yeah a few louts put on the macho act at the tennis on day one of the Aus open, but shit, it happens just as bad if not worse at footy, soccer, nightclubs, so why single out these blokes? I guarantee the majority are the offspring of the parents who were doing it in the 70s, 80s and early 90s at the old NSL. If you think what you saw the other day was bad, try going to Melbourne Croatia V Hellas back in the day, and then get back to me!
Anyway, why is it that people have to drink on Australia day anyway? what a load of bullshit.

Thanks for that explanation. Everything is so much clearer now !!!!!

It's not the fact that people have to drink on Australia Day, it's the choice if you want to enjoy a few drinks with friends socially you should be able to do.

I agree there is no need to drink until you pass out or become aggressive, but it is great to have a couple of beers and enjoy the day with friends and family in a nice calm enviroment.

Good post.
Unfortunatly there seem to be a lot of people intent on ruining it for all of us. The problem is a lot of them simply don't care. Nothing is more dangerous and scary that a person who does not fear a consequence.

That's the problem - the consequences aren't harsh enough for anyone to fear them.

You and 3 mates bash someone and you get a slap on the wrist from the courts - why would anyone fear that?

4) Nightclub violence... Ok apart from your butt sniffing mates... no-one else cares how "gansta" you are. Nightclubs/pubs are there to go out, have some drinks, have a dance and/or hopefully hook-up. I don't know what it's like in Melbourne, but as far as I'm aware, it's nothing like this here in Adelaide. Maybe I just go to more "laid back" kind of places with good people (and therefore avoid any violence), but I've been going out pretty much every weekend for the last 4 years and I've seen one fight in that time (which lasted for about 30 seconds, was totally unneccesary and occured in the street at 9pm at night). I never go out "in fear", because I'm never out to cause trouble, and most other people don't seem to be out to cause trouble either.

That being said, anyone who does cause trouble similarly to what the OP described is an idiot of the highest order, wherever they're from or wherever it's happening. I never understood the point of the constant desire to be seen as "tough", "huge" (bulking up with weights) and "intimidating" that a lot of guys had back in high school (I went to an all-boys school), and I don't understand it in those who carry on with that mentality post-high school either. If there's no pre-existing animosity or issue, why create it? I don't have more respect for someone if they have big arms or they try to act intimidating in the presence of others whom there's no prior issue with. 95% of the time I'm the biggest person in the room, yet I always want to be approachable and friendly, and looking "hard" and "intimidating" is the last thing I want. I go out to spend time with friends, and fun and also meet new people (specifically females), and trying to look "tough" and "intimidating" for no reason other than the fulfillment of ego (I assume that's the reason) is juvenile at best IMO.

If people really want to fight (be it in nightclubs, in the street or even on the footy field), then they should get involved in boxing or MMA, and prove how "tough" they really are that way. I don't mean half-hearted learning a martial art so you can "fight better" (a lot of idiots I knew during high school did this, even thought they never actually got into any fights before or after), but actually compete as a fighter. If you don't have the passion or the guts for that, then don't try and prove that you're "tough" or "hard" in every day life.
