In adelaide it said that the hardest hit were the north eastern suburbs, and that is exactly where i live. First one came about 10.30am and they werent too bad. Then the sun came out for bout half an hour and you could see the cloud building up. I then went out to lunch and in the car it started to rain and you could see a few lightning bolts, then, when we were eating came the loudest clap of thunder i have ever heard. It was beserk and the whole storm continued for about an hour and a half. My next door neighbours dog ran away but luckily mine didnt.

Absolutely shocking, power was on and off every 5 seconds, and the thunder clap never heard anything as loud as it. I am also North Eastern suburbs... Not a fan of thunderstorms.

I don't like thunderstorms and last night I was scared as. They scare the crap out of me.

A few weeks ago we had one loud thunder clap that sounded like it was close to us. It woke me up.

My neighbour's cat Oskar decided to hide under the bed. (that's what my neighbour told me)

I don't like storms. Only like watching the lightning. Hope it isn't coming this way because I hate rain!
You'll be ok. At least you won't have to go outside and water your garden.

Nothing like tackling the hard hitting issues of the day in conversation is there?

Seems to have missed us.

Fine and mid 30's today, with a smoke haze.

I only woke up 7 minutes ago, so looks like I didn't miss much this morning :p

Pretty intense in Melbourne's inner north between 8-9pm, had been a very warm and humid day and you could see them building all afternoon so it was only a matter of time. Heavy rain and intense lightning.

Should be the story for the next week in southern VIC anyway, very warm and humid everyday with on/off rain and thunderstorms.

Silky thats all very well and good to know but what about yesterday... or did you sleep through that too. ;)
Think I woke up about a similar time yesterday - about 12:30pm... and I only woke up because of thunder.

Drove through it on the way from Melbourne to home. Hit it just before Ballarat. Kinda missed most of it though.

At least it was hot and raining yesterday. Today it's just wet and cold. Bring back the bloody sunshine.
