Opinion Strongest teams 1990-2010

For a project i am working on, i am trying to come up with the strongest side in a particular year for each afl club for the period between 1990-2010.

Now obviously winning a premiership holds that teams particular year in higher standing than others, and some have had multiple premierships during this time.

So in which year of the past 20 has each side been at its peak?

Here's my go at the list:

Adelaide: 1998
Brisbane: 2002
Carlton: 1995
Collingwood: 1990
Essendon: 2000
Fremantle: 2006
Geelong: 2007
Hawthorn: 1991
Melbourne: 2000
North Melbourne: 1996
Port Adelaide: 2004
Richmond: 2001
St Kilda: 2009
Sydney: 2005
West Coast: 2006
Western Bulldogs: 1997

So have i made a mistake with your club's strongest year?
Anyone have a differing opinion?

Hard to say, it depends how you measure strength.
I'd argue that the 2005 Crows (Minor Premiers) were a far stronger team than our 1998 team, and would be much harder to defeat. Unless you're playing in September obviously.

I would Say Geelongs 2008 Side was more dominant than there 2007 side
2008 21 wins in the H and A season only poor kicking lost them a premiership

Agreed. And North Melbourne 1999 for me.

Agree re: Geelong's strongest team being 2008 - at least between rounds 1-22. They were pretty ordinary during the finals.

west coast 94. 06 team just the best midfield of all time. 94 strong all over ground and had to beat some great teams to win it.

I reckon our 06 team was stronger on paper than our 05 team.

Even though they lost the GF I'd think the Swans in 96 were probably close to their best. Finished home and away on top of the ladder and played some epic finals against Ess & Haw from memory
