No more sub!!!

Are you sure it's the sub rule change that she's celebrating?

Very glad the Sub rule has gone. Don't like the cap on interchange either.

If they are really that concerned re crowds around the ball, I'd prefer the go for "nuclear" options like starting zones for stoppages rather than these stupid tinkerings. Everytime there is a stoppage, each team must have 3 players in each 50 meter arc, and no more than 10 in one arc. After that let play flow freely as it wants and players run as far and whenever they want in play, but resetting everytime there's a stoppage.

Would significantly reduce congestion, not interfere overtly during play and protect teams from outsmarting themselves and winning the ball only for there to be no forwards to kick it to.
I see the intent there, but you'd be looking at many delays and 'counts' and stuff that would detract from the enjoyment of the game too.

If we wre winning flags non stop we wouldnt even have cared that the dumb sub rule existed lol
Sub RIP Ben Ken the sub vest owner

I might be biased but when we were dominant along with Geelong before all this came about the footy was the best I've ever seen, I loved the speed, bring it back, I don't think there were that many more injuries. Good riddance sub rule!

but we were dominant in 2011 when the sub rule was in.
In my recollection, apart from the last match, it was my favourite season. The way we switched on at any point during the match (usually 3rd qrtr) and blew away opponents was exhilarating.

Funnily enough, we've done well on stacking our midfield with high endurance guys. Freeman, Greenwood, Crisp all noted for their ability to run all day and strength at the contest.

Don't forget Sidey who is an elite endurance runner.

Would be interesting to see if Hine changes his draft strategy as endurance athletes will have greater value (eg Hartung)

Sub rule mistake on Grand Final day was a contributor to our loss. If versatile Goldsack was available to come on for an injured Reid rather than a first year forward pocket Fasolo, we may have won that game. Dont know why Mick had it in for Goldy....hes the only player on our list with a 100% winning record in Grand Finals!!!

All he had to do was put Taz onto Hawkins.
Otherwise we seemed to handle the sub rule as well as anyone that year.

Taz onto Hawkins, sub Reid off, Goldsack onto another dangerous forward.

Omitting Goldsack was a dreadful mistake especially knowing Reid came in under a cloud. Fasolo was never likely to be able to add much as a first year player.
