I pondered that myself, a number of times during the game. This time of year, the ground should be quite firm & therefore bouncing the ball should be easy. The ground surface looked patchy on TV, as if it had been through a season of heavy usage. I trust the AFL will look into the condition of the ground as it was not up to the standard that we expect nowadays at AFL grounds.

yeah i noticed that too especally when their being chased and they bounce the ball and they lose control of it AFL defently should have a look at it

Western Force play rugby on it every second week. Not only does it get seriously cut up, they also like the grass to be thicker. We should get preference so I'm not sure whats happening. The trick is you need to bounce it alot harder than normal. I think your blokes just tried to bounce it normally.

They seemed to pick up on it early. Scotland looked like he was checking out a second-hand car every time he bounced. That's one good reason for doing warm-ups out on the ground.

twas a little on the spoungy side when we strode on it last night... but it was also a little dewy i thought, or maybe they had run the sprinklers a little earlier because while the players were kicking for goal before the match the balls were skidding when they hit the surface which means there was surface water...
