For me nothing beats summer. Chilling out down the coast in Sorrento, going sailing on the bay and having a look at a few white pointers and going out to a pub in the evening.

Very lazy days and IMO summer has to be the best time of the year.

Your thoughts..

I cant stand heat.

Nothing better than sitting on a beach and getting the warm rays of the sun. If it gets too hot you can always get in the water..

It's not a real comp - just one made from sand and plugged into the beach-house stump.

365 day a year here. It would be nice to get cold once in a while. :)

And the natural firworks displays on most nights this time of year...........

As for the cold - dont forget that 12C night last dry season (anything under 20C is considered cold up here for those that don't know)

From memory that night was the coldest on record up here and certainly had the wierd fashions coming out.............:D

While I don't mind a nice frosty, chilly night during winter, not much beats a couple of weeks on the beach., enjoying a beer or three with your mates, while bird watching. Perfect.

That's entertainment all year round up here...........:D

Eueeeeechh can't stand summer one bit.

Australian summers are just becoming unbearable. Getting sunburnt and sweating when it is only 21 - argh! I think working has a lot to do with it *nods*

I love snow, winter, storms, freezing nights, gloves to the footy etc.

I really really wish were were able to have defined seasons where we had a real winter and a real summer. Now it is just one whole season with little flutters of change.

Ro am totally envious of lazy days at Sorrento - hope you are enjoying them. Grrrr.

The Hitman

Clearly, that we can tell, otherwise you wouldnt be drafting up threads about all that is wrong with Big Footy, and you wouldnt be making nasty comments at people you dont know.

Absolutely love Summer.
Weekends consisting of shopping for small clothes, swimming at City Baths, Ice Skating at Freshwater Place, barbecues in the backyard, and movies at Moonlight Cinema with picnic and wine!

Doesnt get any better than this!

For me summer gets better as you get older. When you were younger keeping yourself amused during the school holidays really became a bore.

It could have been a tad hotter this weekend but as long as it's sunny, I'm not complaining.

Nothing beats throwing a few snags on the BBQ, sitting out to all hours, drinking copious amounts of alcohol and wearing off the hangover by throwing yourself into the surf the next day.

What's footy?

God, you'll get yourself stabbed in here saying stuff like that Roh - its just not serious enough.... think you gotta make footy your life around here!! ;)

I don't have a huge love of Summer, Rohan.

Granted, the beach is awesome, the chicks are hot, and a BBQ in the evening is wonderful, but these things don't occupy your whole day from Novemeber to March. Today for instance was a hot day and I was at work. It might have been great if I was at the beach, but I wasn't - I was at work. The beach is great, but you can't live in the water. A pool is great, but you can't live in a pool. A BBQ is great, but you can't BBQ 24 hours a day.

Spring, Autumn and Winter might be cooler, but for sheer comfort and lifestyle 24 hours a day, they are superior. No they're not superior for those few hours when you are at the beach, or having a BBQ but for a typical day, when you are working (or even if you're not working, but are not near a pool or a beach) Summer can be uncomforatable and unbearable.

I prefer Summer only for those few hours I am at the beach. When I am not near water (like today) I just wish it was any other time of year.

anyone kno anything to put on it to soothe? I think tea or aloe vera is one remedy?

Aloe Vera that's been kept in the fridge feels great, has some good effect if applied early, but is otherwise a witch's remedy with no proven medical benefits.

For healing power, use some form of calloidal silver. There's a salve called 'Silvadine' which is a freakin' burn miracle. It used to be prescription, but anymore you can get it over the counter.

Let me know if these folks need advice in acquiring the perfect righteous tan (frankly, I'm disappointed in them burning themselves).

Peace & blister pus
