^SG - ie. employer super guarantee

Mine are supposed to be paid fortnightly, and they usually are. The missing payments finally came through a week ago.

The fortnights in question were 2 in July and 1 in August.

Ah ok. Yeah nothing you can really do there as they're still meeting the legislated obligation. Some industry funds will state in their Trust Deed that payments must be made on a more regular (i.e. monthly) basis but if I were an employer I'd tell them to get stuffed and drag it out for as long as possible :)

My employer normally pays the last day they possibly can, i.e. I won't get July's super until 28 October.

Supposed by who? There is no legal requirement for employers to pay super on a fortnightly basis.

Regardless of the legal requirement, the custom for 15 years has always been for my employer to pay super within a week of each pay cycle. Sometimes that drifts out to a couple weeks. Never had it been 8 weeks late.

As I said, I was missing 2 payments from July and 1 from late August. However, super had been paid for early August and the 2 pay cycles in September. Hence, I queried my Super company and my employer to determine what was going on. My employer just said the payments were coming. Eventually they did, but I never found out why there was a delay.

The delay was because there is no legal requirement and your employer has realised making super payments each fortnight is a waste of their time.

Hi Everyone,
Question does anyone know how to track down and find your "lost super"? I found my TFN and called the ATO the whole thing is automatic these days, and the search came up with nothing, However I know for a fact this can't be true. I have had a few jobs since I have left school over 9 years ago. I think because I was young and really unsure I just signed up for a new super fund for each job and I bet I have funds floating around somewhere.

If I'm currently living outside of the country and don't need to file a tax return am I eligible for the co-contributions for making voluntary contributions to my super?
no, from memory you need to have at least $1.00 of either taxable or assessable income.
