after watching a few games this year i have come to realise SC cheats by giving protected species such as judd and ablett massive scores

Watching last nights game judd somehow got 120ish yet had 23 touches and only 2 marks and a heap of ineffective kicks and direct turnovers. Acoording to this score that would put him 3rd best of ground which is an absolute joke

So how does the scoring system actually work? Do players like judd just get points for playing?

I was surprised to see Gibbs get 112. He had a good second half but his first half was deplorable. Nearly every possession he had in the first 2 quarters was a turn over or infective.

Now that you know this, just make sure you have them and move on.

Look at Judds stats and not his effect on the game..

23 Possessions
78% effective
11 contested possessions
1 Contested Mark
1 Uncontested Mark
5 Clearances
1 Clanger
2 FF
1 FA
4 Inside 50's
4 Goal Assists..

If you don't think those stats are worthy of 119 points, go play dreamteam...

P.S - i think that Gibbs score was too low.. should have scored around the 130-140 mark..

looks like Judd scored so well due to his efficiency and North being a clanger factory last night.

There is a problem with the system tho, if its supposed to be a ranking system for all players on the ground, when the side that was soundly beaten has the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th ranked players on the ground..

The fact that there were only 2 North players over 100 is a joke in a game which they won easily

I personally thought Judd did sweet **** all when the game was close but I probably don't know what I'm talking about

The point is "big name" players seem to score far too easily, even when their side looses badly

SC is not strictly a ranking system for the best players on the ground.

Simon Prestigiacomo sometimes does a brilliant job, yet he's an awful SC player.

It's based on possessions, tackles, so on, so forth. You could have no effect on the game, but if you have 20 effective kicks chipping around the backline, you're probably gunna get a good SC score.

Well that may have been because he butchered nearly every possession he had in the first half. Watch the replay of the first half and watch how many effective possessions he has by foot or hand for that matter. I don't know what his score was at half time but I can't imagine it being much over 30.

IIRC, he was on around 7 or 8 at Qtr time.
