Guess its always a risk but the other 5 cats will get me plenty of points for sure and I have some good talent from other sides also. had to throw some cats in there.
 
I have two teams. The one thats in our league has 6 Cats players (Prismall, Bartel and Ottens on the field then Djerkurra, Selwood and Hawkins on the bench) and the one with my mates has 7 (Ottens, Mooney, Prismall, Kelly (who I am thinking of getting rid of), Ling (because he gets so many garbage possessions) and Selwood and Djerkurra on the bench.

Oh and I wanted to make my team name 'TheTeamsBelowMeSuck' but too many letters and you can't use the word suck :p

My opinion:
Selwood, J.Hunt, Hawk - Yes (2 good cheap players / Expensive, but Hunt bags points, lots of 1%s and is improving every year despite media spin)

Nathan, DJ, Rooke - No (Maybe Rooke, but can't see him gathering points while tagging etc.)
 
Ling is also good because he gets so many garbage possessions. He might not be a good player but he gets a lot of points. Plus no matter how bad he plays he never gets dropped from the 1's.
 
I see search and destroy has signed on for spot 15 . Who are you mate? and welcome. One spot left to fill.

I am search and destroy. I haven't posted in this forum before; but I am a Melbourne based Cats fan who was looking for a supercoach league to join. I hope you don't mind that I joined.

No, as long as a designated back is the back, it doesn't matter what position they normally play. You could have a back-line full of Andrew McLeod types, if you know what I mean! The game isn't necessarily about picking the best players (otherwise you'd choose Rutten or Scarlett), it's about picking possession winners.

Well, the more expensive they are in Supercoach, the more points they rack up. That's why Joel Bowden is so expensive, because he got a LOT of cheap possessions in Richmond's chip it to-and-fro backline last year. Ling can be expensive for similar reasons. First time I did it was last year, and I wasn't as aware of players from other teams. That competition has made me pay a lot more attention to the other teams players as a result. I also picked way too many Geelong players to begin with.

Supercoach provides a link to a PDF that you can download that has all the players' stats from last year and their selling price this year. I think it's on the "Home" page after you login.

You'll wanna think about picking up new players, because their salaries increase rapidly with game time and you can then sell them off to get better/more expensive players.

It is, but I thought you might be one of the team names who I couldn't match up to posters. Nevermind. There's that many members that someone else should start up a second league.
