I rate Malthouse one of the best coaches in the league but the pathetic explanation of his ridiculous decision to start Brown in the forward line and leave O'Brien on Fevola till it was all but over has got me stumped.

All we heard leading in was that Brown has smashed his highly credentialled opponents in the first 3 weeks and would do the same to Fev.

Why in God's name did Mick start him forward and not make the change (any change, for that matter) sooner?

Because Mick spent all week on the phone to the Herald Sun and Adrian Anderson, missed training and forgot to hand in a team sheet for the game.

Come Sunday, Mick is sitting in the corner of the rooms, wearing a white dressing gown, and someone asked him where they should play Nathan Brown. Mick said "Brown? Give him a rest in the forward line. We're gonna rotate Superman, Batman and the whole bloody Justice League of America on Fevola and we'll win."

didnt think there was much obrien could do either. carlton kicked the ball well to fev, very hard to stop as a defender.
