Supporters Group at the Geelong game...

Howdy Swans fans.

I was at the game on Saturday night (too bad about the result by the way) and I noticed something was really up with the supporters group. The main thing I noticed (actually my gf noticed) is that there were very few people in the supporters group section compared to the last game we attended and also there were no massive pom-poms, only flags.

We were wondering if anyone knows what happened. There were a lot of military folk in the same section (from the pre-game thingy), but it was very empty compared to usual (plus the no pom-poms).

Well before heading into the ground last night
My banner was checked
and the guy was like hold on i have 2 ask someone if its ok 2 come in because atm its only flags (irish & aboriginal) plus cheer squad stuff allowed in

anyway the guy came around looked at my sister and said the banner was fine 2 go in

so maybe big pom poms and such arnt allowed in

though last game at ANZ (pies) i had no trouble with my banner

Damn that sucks. I hope they can recruit some red-hot n00bs in the near future because the support was pretty good, but you still need those hardcore fans - they're the real spirit of the supporter base.

And SOPH_CROSS - the Geelong supporters group had pom-poms and the Swannies supporters group have always had them before, so I reckon it wasn't security.

Has there ever been any doubt that when the game is on the line and the chips are down that our senior players look to the balding, overweight, middle aged men waving pom poms in our cheer squad to inspire them to victory?

well 1stly it looked really empty because our cheer squad has literally no one in it

so any swans fans reading this if u think ur that big of a supporter then JOIN THE CHEER SQUAD its just like standard membership+$20 and its amazing the stuff u get to do like holding the banner the players run through and stuff...yeah thats so sad im advertising
(btw seriously if ur interested then message me and ill tell u like everything u gotta know...we are looking for young people!!)

2ndly apparently we arent allowed to have the massive pompoms at ANZ stadium matches but i dunno if thats true or not

Hammo, I was sitting just behind you at the Bombers game! I got a seat just behind the cheersquad and saw your banner, very impressive.

I'd love to join the cheersquad, but I think I'm a LITTLE young, and I dunno if I'd be able to get to all the games anyway.
