At the start of the season I though Richo looked set to have a dominating season and began fairly well. In the end didn't seem to go as good as I thought he would (except against the Bulldogs, geez!). However I have to admit I haven't watched too many Richmond games this year, just wondering all your thoughts on Richo's year?

Hot & Cold

When his HOT his HOT

when his COLD his Very Very COLD

feel for Richo week in week out has to battle againt 2 or more oponents
Hopefully we can trade and pick up a Pat Bowden and maybe gives us another option to kick to free up the big man......

Richo is a star. The fact that you never know what to expect from him, makes watching his games that little bit more exciting, (not forgetting 'Frustrating')

If Richo was in a team with a dominant midfield, he would be kicking 100+ goals a year. Time after time this year, he was one out with an oppostition player and they wouldn't go for the long option.

With a different game plan. he will without a doubt improve next year.

Richo has been great this year, very few dummy spits and an improved work rate on last season.

Unfortunately he has been let down to some degree by the midfield, but mostly by the coaches:

When we kick long and direct to Richo, we look like a top 8 side, when we chip it around, we are pathetic. I am adament that given the right delivery, over the course of a match Richo will almost always beat his man. He is a huge man with good pace, great set of hands and as he showed against the Swans, he can still leap a bit. Unfortunately the outgoing coaching panel did not force our players to kick long negating any advantage Richo gave us. However my biggest criticism of Frawley et al and why I could not be happier they are gone, is that they never did anything to help Richo when he was double-teamed. The game against the Swans was the most painful thing I have seen in years, seeing Richo trying to have to outmark between 2 and 5 opponents was shocking. If we could have let him play one on one with a defender we would have done a lot better this year.

Yes Richo will always miss the odd set shot from 10m out directly in front, but if the team is properly coached then he should still end up kicking plenty of goals.

Agreed. I think this has been one of richos more consistent years. His kicking was good most of the year, but went astray a bit in the last few games. I thought he worked hard on trying to improve his body language as well. He will always be passionate, but I think he did fairly well in the circumstances to keep his frustrations relatively in check.

Exactly, people go on and on about his dummy spits, I'd like to see any of the gun forwards in the league react differently if they got the same treatment from teammates and coaches as Richo has. He is still our only genuine match-winner. It hurts to see people want to trade him, he is a tiger through and through and has been all along but most importantly the team is better with Richo in it.

Most of you know what I think about Richo. Compared to last year, this year was far more successful for Richo. And for a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve, he did well controlling or trying to control his feelings. It just would be nice if Richo could go one whole season without being hampered by injury - and having to fend off 3-5 opponents at once. Probably one of the few consistent players we had this year.

He has had only 9 less shots at goals than Gehrig. But unfortunately his conversion this year which is the most points of any player has meant that he has 25 less goals.

Gehrig 90.34 compared to Rich 65.50

Imagine Richo kicking straight and with a game plan that prevents him being swamped with opposition players. Favourite player of the last ten years but there will always be a question of what he could have been under different conditions.

I would have traded him three years ago, when he was 26-ish, and we saw how well the team managed without him for most of 2001.

At that stage, Richo would have definitely been worth No 1 Draft Pick (and some!!) ...

I might even have considered the trade post-2002, where he would have still probably been worth No 1 Pick, but it's simply not worth it nowadays.

Besides, now he's on the Vets List, he's pretty good value for money ....

Richo played most of the 2001 season only missed 3 games. 2000 was when he misssed most of the year only played 3 games, we did cope alright without him though in the 8 for most of the year before falling in a whole late in the season and missing the finals.

Yeah, that'd be it kretchy. It was at the end of that year he did that foot injury at Freo. Was that 2000 ? Bloody hell ... time flies (except when you're along-suffering Tiger !!)

Richo is my favourite Tiger and a great player I think his efforts in 2004 have been good considering the poor on field performances, I think he has a few years to go considering he has missed so much in the past, look forward to more magic in 2005.

I think Wallace will try and remodel Richo's game and Richmonds game so that Richmond dont exclusively rely on Richo to kick goals.

Richo had a sensational season this season but Richmond had a shocker. Richmond need to use Richo like Brisbane use Lynch. Keep Richo in the goal square but dont exclusively bomb it down to him. The game plan should be all about midfielders and Ruck penetrating the 50 metre line and kicking goals.

Apart from Brown this season, it just didnt happen

No future with a clown who cant kick a goal from 10 metres.
Another senior listed player who is a serial loser.
Time to go Richo!!!!
