So Toddy met with Brian Dawson to discuss tactics to beat Subiaco, what do you reckon Swans have to do to win? Subi only need to turn up, in most peoples books and even I can't see the Black Ducks winning, I do hope and will support them, just can't see it happening.
For me, Naita needs to be in the ruck from the first bounce down, with Notte and Spaanders giving him rests. Naita must also start the bounce down at 90 degrees to the Subi ruckmen, becuase they were one of the first to "tunnel" him, ie run 1m past the trajectory of the bounce and take his leap out. Naita will be caned down back so you might as well throw Spaanders there, because Naita is more effective in the ruck IMHO.
If Tallen Ames proves his fitness I would also gamble with bringing him into the team as CHB, because he's been playing quite well there this year. I would also be tempted to bring Jeff Garlett in to provide further speed and run and he was one of the main reasons we got over Subi that 1 time at Basso.
Under no circumstances are Read, Pickett and Cossom and co to be given free passage out of the centre, you've got to make them work for it. Naita said on the radio this arvo that they can't let Subi get a fast start, which is absolutely imperative from our point of view. Although, we must be careful not to become too negative and go to the point of worrying about them too much, in my view, because we haven't played that way all year and now is probably not the time to change the basic way we play.
Hoping for a cracker but becoming more nervous by the day, I can't wait any longer!
