No secret that we grow a leg for the big games, although Sydney are a completely different task. A better running team than the Cats, Kenelly and Barry off half back and a few potent targets, namely Hall in which normally has a feast against us. They are excellent by foot, play an uncontested game, however have shown that when the going gets tough they are up for the scrap.

I think we're going to have to inject the pace right from the opening bounce, Stanton and Dyson straight into the middle. Also, the Swans arent the most physical of teams, maybe with the Johnsons starting in the middle we can shake a few of their young blokes up. Looks like we'll be without Solomon and McVeigh, question over Rioli's spear tackle as well. Ball, Goodes and Jolley have hit form as well, Hille and Kepler will need to be on the top of their games.

More options up forward, O'Loughlin, Davis, O'Keefe and Schneider, pretty solid back half. I think we're going to need 4 to 5 from Lloyd, Barry always provides a good matchup for him, but on the other side of the coin Lucas was excellent last time around.

The most important line is half back - if we can hold our own on the night against Hall, keep him to possibly under 5, im relatively confident that we can have a win.

Looking forward to it greatly, not disillusioned in any way, the Swans aren't top 4 for no reason, they're playing good quality football. But I dont see a reason why we cant win if we really come to play. Would be dissapointed with a crowd under 45,000.

No doubt Bolton will be rushed back in to play on him :(

I think you can rejoice, Bolton spent the last half of the game today at Sandy on the bench. I dont know for sure but he must have picked up an injury as i doubt he would have been on the pine in the last 10 minutes if he could have been on the ground.

maybe Knights knew he wasnt worth playing ;)

Looks to be an ankle injury for Bolts. Not worth risking him.

Henneman will stay in on Friday's performance, and if you take the Bendigo best 6 into account from today, that best 6 had Monfries, Slattery and Hunt in it, so all 3 lead the way from inclusion. Thomas not far behind.

Sydney looked sluggish after half-time last night. The Crows controlled them by beating them at their own game. Use of pace could be very handy.

so if bolton doesnt get him who will we put on goodes? very hard to match up on as hes mobile and tall.
bradley might get the job...hope hes up to it.

As for Goodes, it is why I am inclined to think that Hunt will come in. It will then be up to Henneman, Richards and/or Hunt to have the match-up on Goodes.

Looks like another 30 or so possessions for Goodes then.

KB to tag Goodes.

Kepler mightnt have the tank just at the moment to stay with Goodes for four quarters.

His opponent will need to be rotated regularly, maybe Kepler goes with him when he ventures into their forward 50.

Why not Sammy.

He's not a KPP in terms of others we have. Sheeds would be tempted to do it..just watch!

Does Sammy have the engine to match Goodes? Im sure he could go with him in the air and at ground level, may lack a bit of nouse though.

Outside Bolts, Kep probably has one of the biggest tanks at the club.
His running ability is fantastic, remember he played the vast majority of his footy in WA as a midfielder (including at senior level).

Put sollo on him, rough him up bit

One of those questions that you can't really answer altogether accurately without having a punt probably.

What I noticed from Goodes last night was the amount of floating he did around the ground in a ruck-rover type role. The Crows didn't match up on him that well, but, he wasn't sprinting around that much.

Your right he has one of the biggest tanks, expends too much energy running to the wrong spots though - hence his fatiguing in games. With experience he'll learn where to run and how to efficiently and effectively manage his stamina. ATM, Goodes probably has the nouse to run him off his feet.

Its not so much his pace but the amount of ground he covers. He drifts back to help in defence, runs around in the midfield and then pushes forward and kicks goal. He must cover many kms in one match.

In my opinion Kepler could become a major weapon for this club playing a Goodes type role, they share a lot of similar attributes. We have seen the impact he has made in the midfield over the last couple of weeks. His ability to win the ball in close is fantastic.

The opportunity for Kep to run with Goodes would do great for his education. Lets face it, we don't have a perfect match-up for Goodes and in all likelihood he will beat Kep. However, the opportunity for Kep to play on a Brownlow Medalist and learn from it is too good to pass up.

One thing Kep can do is mark the footy. And if he can push forward and make Goodes accountable then we are every chance of winning the contest and I don't think any other player on our list has the ability to make Goodes work as hard both ways.

and more to the point, it is not whta we could lose but we can gain. It is all about giving kids experience and for them to learn. Keps playing on Goodes will teach him a lot. I have no problems losing the game if it means our younger players develop just that bit more from the contest.

Just on the Solomon free kick where he punched Ablett....

What was the free kick for is the umpire didn't report him?

If it was a punch it has to be reported...so obviously the umpire didn't interpret it as such.

Wasn't too high, wasn't push in the back, etc?
