Signs are becoming more encouraging each week. Seems to be loving the idea of being the main guy in the middle.

It isn't so much his skills I'm loving, in fact some of his kicks were downright average, but to see a bloke that young just tackling, hitting the packs, getting the hard ball... well, it makes me glad we drafted him basically. Has that true natural aggression like Pickett or Riccuito, rather than the manufactured Chris Tarrant/Dean Solomon style aggression.

I reckon this will be his season. I knwo you aren't meant to read too much into the NAB cup, but imo individual players form can be read into. If a guy is dominating each week in the pre-season its usually at least a sign that he can play.

Pumped to see him again next week along with Bate.

I tihnk we're beginning to see a changing of the guar at melbourne, where we won't be as dependant on Neitz, Yze, White. We're going to see TJ, Wrecker, Robertson become our three leaders this season. Sylvia has a claim to one of those spots if he wants it. He just needs to keep doing what he's doing for the whole season.

I dont want too put too much pressure on him this season, if he managed to play 15+ games and not get injured, i'll be happy.

But your right, he will be a deadset gun.

James agree's with ya re Colin but can you please leave your private life to yourself. Don't care about your marriage situation or who you bang :)

I think he is great at finding the ball, especially from the the dead ball situations. Tackles hard, runs hard. I think he's a really keen, competitive footballer.
Don't mean to heap pressure on him, but I see him as being a Riccuito like player. He'll just dominate the middle of the ground and really shake things up.
On his skills, he did just blaze away a few times, but I think this will improve as he seems to have good skills, he just doesn't always pick the right option.
Anyway, he got game.

Well said Cannons. He is another player that will play a big part in premership glory down the track.:)

Thats a very soft attitude Yze_class. Im telling you right now that Sylvia will play 22 games games next year if he remains uninjured. He played 16 last year for christs sake and 'he got injured'. Clearly he has improved, so me and Sylvia himself would expect nothing less than 22 games provided he stays injury free.

thought he played really well last night and he certainly did work hard to get the ball and got into all the packs which most of the older guys dont often do

I don't want to mozz him but when a few where doubting him i always knew he would come good. Has a long way to go yet but is starting to look the part. He can sometimes be over agressive and give a free away but you would rather that than the opposite. I am surprised by his kicking errors although not major he was always a good kick on both feet. Confidence will fix that i am sure. Look forward to him having an injury free year and really justifying his high draft pick.

Best thing I noticed is not just how tough he is, and his ability to get clearance,s tackle etc. but that he has an athletic side to his game that not many other, if any, inside midfielders have.

I'm only thinking about his OP, the last thing we want is for him to push too hard and practically wreck his career.

yep i agree he is a very good athlete, good leap for the hanger, he is quick, he will be a superstar, hopefully part of the next generation of "hird, voss, buckley":thumbsu:

When you look at him he is pretty much the complete player. One thing I have also liked is he is starting to go for a lot more contested marks, as this is a feature of his game that is superb but we haven't seen much of it yet. Looks like he has a lot more confidence now and Daniher is giving him a good run in the middle.
Will along with maybe a couple of others be the superstar we need (Though not this year).
