Sylvia should be played forward.

Guys, he is not a defender. His kicking is good without being great and I don't think he's fit right now (He is normally quick off the mark but has no pace ATM).

Just because he was drafted as a mid/forward, doesn't mean he has to play there. What has he produced as a forward?

Col Garland was recruited as a forward - i guess you don't think he's a defender?

This sort of thing frustrates me, we overrate our players worth so much....people want to get rid of him because they think he is $hit, so if he is so $hit, you think other clubs wouldn't see that also? so why would they offer a first round pick for him,...sheesh...

I have watched a lot of Colin.

He is not a defender. I'd be happy to be proved wrong and see him cement a place in the team, but he is not a defender.

In relation to this particular player, your comment frustrates me. It is obvious Sylvia is very talented, and certainly isn't shit. He just has some off-field and work ethic-related issues.

Hopefully he stays put, as I feel it woud be a mistake to trade him after all of the work we've put into developing him. I understand he needs to deliver soon in order to justify this, but I think he will. I'm not sure trading him for a second rounder would give us a player of his ability, in fact it almost certainly wouldn't. I'm willing to keep the faith for another season, as he's still young (22 from memory).

no, i agree with you cannons, I think he can still be a great player, what I was referring to how many other people think he is $hit, yet they still beleive a first round draft pick will be offerred for him...

fair enough he has been at the club 5 years, but he has also been dealign with OP and abdominal issues for pretty much all those years, which means progress is going to be a little slower.

Yeah, in that case I agree with you.

You raise a good point about his injury issues too, I don't know if he's ever completed a full pre-season. Of course, this shouldn't be used to totally excuse his efforts, some of his problems don't have anything to do with this, but it does have a role.

To add to your thoughts on the pick we will receive if he is traded, we are going to get an average pick for him at best, and he's worth more than that. I'm sure the reasons for this have been covered a number of times throughout this thread and many others revolving around this player.
