I'm just wondering why all these Andrew Symond's fans weren't defending him from the barrage of abuse he was copping before the world cup. It's very easy to claim to have always believed in someone who just made 143 of 125 balls.

Hmm I don't think anyone has always believed in him. Everyone's bagged him, myself included. I picked Symonds in the hope that he wouldn't play :p hence the smilie.

There are a couple in this thread and the other thread who have said they never doubted him, and others who have but have changed their minds after one innings against the most erratic team in the world.

am i missing something ??

lehmann and bevan are they players to come in , isn't it a straight swap with harvey and maher

No

Because Harver replaced Warne. ie a bowler

Lehmann is only a part time bowler and Bevan doesn't bowl at all

Symonds came in for Bevan and Maher came in for Lehmann.

If Bevan is fit - he will play and Maher will drop out.

Now if Boof comes in - it means technically SYmonds should go.

unlikely after alst night.

Now the only other choice would be Martyn as a batsman or Harvey as a bowler

Get rid of Matyn would be by choice.

Yeah, going by the straight swap, that would be the way to go.

Unfortunatly, i think they will go in without a 5th bowler, and try to get 10 overs out of symonds, boof and bevo. This will prolly work against some of the average teams, im just worried about what will happen when a good batting lineup takes to em. With hogg prolly on the other end in the middle overs, it could get messy. As good as hogg is, will he be able to tie down a end if the other side is getting smashed....

anyway, hopefully im wrong, and the part timers can get through the overs without too much trouble.

I have probably been Andrew Symonds harshest critic, but I am happy to eat humble pie. He played a magnificent innings, even better considering the trouble we were in.
I never said he couldn't play, (well, I probably have) but my beef was that he was getting so many games and doing squat.

He needs to go on with it now and prove that last night wasn't a fluke.

Ian Harvey critics should be eating their words too.

Read my post you cheeky bugger. :D ;)

How could anyone drop Ian Harvey? Leading wicket taker, made vital runs and helped Symonds pile on the runs. Played a pivotal role in our win.

Fatty Lehmann doesn't deserve a spot but I would think Bevan will return, unfortunately, for Maher. But really, why change a winning combination?
