Personally id rather watch the TAC CUP grand final on free to air TV other than half the other crap they have on known as 'pre game entertainment'
Yeah, what happened to having a full day of footy on GF day?
The shite they show now (along with the channels cross-promotion of crap ala Idol) takes away from the build-up.
Back to the days of the Under 19's (replaced by TAC), 2's (replaced by VFL) and the AFL on the same day, at the same ground, on the same channel. It's not as if the AFL doesn't have enough cash lying around to sponsor the TAC/VFL leagues to play on the same day.

Agree, **** i would love that so much. Best day of footy ever, especially if i had my teams play in all games and win em all, but thats greedy, just that set up would be awesome
It's scheduled to be shown on Fox Sports Robbo, as per the Rd 17 and Finals Editions of the TAC Cup Record.

We can only hope that Channel 7 decide next year when they have the Grand Final rights to take the coverage.
7's coverage of it in 2001 and earlier at times was annoying with the ads and when they cut away during the match a couple of times for other stories, but their coverage shitted on what Fox Footy served up since. They had more than 2 cameras for a start!

Can't agree with you on that footyman. I much prefer the Fox Sports coverage of the TAC Cup GF. Yes, one camera seems lacking in this era but at least it is complete coverage. Channel Seven cutting away from crucial moments of the game to show us some bunch of half-famous wannabe celebs sipping chardy at a brekky somewhere absolutely shit me to tears. At least Fox honours their commitment to show the game by doing exactly that.
Fair enough. I agree they don't cut away from the game at all, and they shouldn't cos my understanding is that the cost of the coverage is subsidised by AFL Victoria. The meter must run out of credit by the time the final siren goes cos they seem to constantly miss the presentation and medal winner.
It got annoying how 7 missed a few bits of the game, but I could cop that and I think it should be on free to air.

i agree it shuld deffiantly b on free to air... surely tha afl wants to promote its elite junior competition n most people hav tha tv on hours b4 tha grand final starts... i think most blokes wuld wana see tha up and coming talents over tha other entertainment provided

I totally agree with you..... one day somebody will understand and get it right. TAC Cup is great to watch and the talent is outstanding
