By the way ... 6:50 of part two - Knights not having an opposite foot - cost us the game.

Anybody who thinks that skill is overrated has rocks in their head.

I always thought McLeod's tackling technique was very underrated. He set a brilliant example on textbook tackling. Always used to get down really low and burrow himself into the mid-section of the other player.

This is a really important skill nowdays because if you get lazy or just throw an arm out, players are very adept at slipping under the tackle and getting a high tackle free kick (Joel Selwood springs to mind).

Maybe Macca can be the tackling coach! :thumbsu:

Macca's technique is a result of his junior days playing rugby league in the NT........

Should've seen the warning signs with Bock, right at the end of the video it's pretty clear he already wanted to play for a different team :p

I thought that at the early part of 2010 - he just looked... disinterested. I think he'd already mentally made the decision to leave and that's how he played (for the miserable amount of the year that he made it on to the field).

Stabby, you were far too kind putting in the examples of where Geelong got the raw end - which was hardly ever.

The problem was I made it the day after the match occurred and had absolutely no desire to watch the damn thing again :o So I mostly just skipped through it to find some stark examples and they were the ones that fell out.

Agreed though, we were given a serious touch-up that day, though not as bad as the debacle against St. Kilda in the early part of the year.

Thommo does this as well; which is reflected in the stats -not to mention he has core strength and a low centre of gravity.

Thats it then, lets hire Thommo:mad:

Hopefully this extra focus on tackling has long term benefits instead of the short term benefits we've had in the past with specialist tackling coaching.
