Kable is as good a back man as you’d find in district footy around the area and Hamilton goes very well from all reports I’ve heard

Flanagan is no slouch and can kick goals. Parish a well respected player from Toc and add Lowe into the mix that’ll see the lions improve I would think?

A screenshot of messages exchanged between the wahgunyah newest recruits and the coin they’ve been offered has fallen into the hands of the wrong guy at our club who wants it looked into further. Basically if the club is paying 4 recruits $750 a game (54k for season) it only allows the rest of the playing group to be paid $16k/ $900per week /$50/game on ave and that’s without their aboriginal contingent, and the playing coach.

Most if not all clubs are paying under the table we all know that but the issue cocko has is that it makes it even harder for clubs to recruit as they’re seeing their mates/ex teammates getting paid this ridiculous money and are expecting the same type of treatment because they believe they’re similar if not better players. There needs to be some type of system implemented that lets say for the sake of the conversation that if you play:
-over 100 games senior ovens and Murray/GV etc you can be paid over $500
-between 50/99 games, say $200/$450
- under 50 games $200 or under

This is all hypothetically speaking but a proper payment structure would help give clubs some control back over the mediocre footballers putting ridiculous money on their heads

What, $750 a game times 4 recruits in what is arguably the worst team in a sub-standard comp? Do Wahgunyah attract big crowds for some strange reason?

So we're (me) none the wiser how the bottom side in a piss weak comp can pay 4 x $750 each week for "elite" players and this is also going to help the culture? ---- How?

I’ve got 2 theories for you.

1.The new president is tipping some money into the club under the table like he has in previous tenures

2.Like this season they’re offered the big $$ per game and if they don’t perform like recruits this season they’re asked to take a cut and then they’ll leave

No club in the cluster is winning a premiership until things change and yes that includes Rutherglen

There’s not the same quality in the TDFL as years gone by. You’ve had some gems go through your doors, Tyson Neander, John Spence are a couple of names I recall but there’s many more you’d simply pay to go and watch., the Wilson boys.

Kiewa’s teams of a decade ago would blow away their current flag winning team. Barny, Mitta, DMB when they had the Bradshaws, coaches Copley, Sarau, there’s Thurgoona, Yack …. TDFL GF used to draw more than the O&M but the Hume League leaves them for dead now.

Don’t blame the cluster, CDHBU are a great club and attracting plenty of good players where Corowa are advertising for a major sponsor and according to you one person is keeping Wahgunyah afloat.

You need to merge.
