A couple of times tonight he got the ball and took on a few players and I thought " here we go this is the guy I saw tear up the carnival a few years back." Then after freeing himself from opponents he just sprayed balls everywhere.

His confidence appears shot to me and is a shadow of the player he should be. I hope he can prove me wrong but I've got serious doubts about his ability to get back the skill and confidence that made him a stand-out junior.

I think he has as much talent as Jetta, Lovett and Davey. Your indigenous players aren't exactly physical players in their own right and you should give kids more time before you right them off. He's done more than Ryder who has been called a gun after just one good match. Ryder handed a goal straight to Whitnall by having the biggest brainfart in recent history.

PS. Monfries hasn't even had 30 possessions in a game yet.
