I like to see if I can get some honest opinions from Freo supporters on todays game. Do you believe you were just overun by a better opponent or do any of you suspect the side tanked? I know its really hard for some supporters to accept their side tanked (some Carlton supporters still think they never tanked) but it just seems a little odd that Carlton only scored 9 goals over 3 quarters but you conceeded 7 goals in the last. The issue of course is that a win today would have put you on the maximum wins to get a priority pick with 8 rounds to go & with a game coming up against WC (who is also on the edge). Do any of you think there is anything that happened today which may indicate the side didn't do everything it could to win?
 
No, I don't think we are. What (IMO) people fail to realise is that we have quite a few young players who are in their first who are getting used to the "big boys" of AFL. Basically the comment you made about being over run by a better opponent is half true...we were over run, but I don't think Carlton were anything to sing about today (although, their supporters may beg to differ).

You got that right, Carlton would have lost that game buy a bundle if they were playing anybody but the current bottom four. In fact, if we had even a couple of our top line in the team instead of the passengers we would have probably had the legs and the lead to keep Carlton out (eg. Pavlich and Hayden). We weren't tanking, not yet anyway. When you see half the team go in for early surgery and players like Gilmore and Head are back in the team as our starting midfielders, then you know we're tanking. ;)
