With M.Clark off to the Demons and the Lions having offered 21 yr old Lisle a three year deal should we try and snag Lisle? Has he got anything? Looks a likely type..

Already agreed to terms with Brisbane, deal to be lodged tomorrow. Thats what they (the media) are saying anyway. Wont stop your chances of having a last minute crack though.

Whoever gets him will be better for it.

He's got to be the worst shot for goal I've ever seen. Most other things are pretty good. I actually think he'll make a great chb

That game in the seniors where he shanked a lot is not really representative.

He got the yips big time early in that game. His kicking is generally par for what you would expect at this level.

I'm kind of sorry to see him go; he reads the play well across the back, and can certainly 'clunk' a mark.

i think anywhere he ends up will be quite happy with him.

Next.

Yes, but I expect that recruiters make decisions based on slightly more than a 19 second clip on Youtube.

par isn't what we need, though. we've got par. we need a big bloke who can be relied on to kick straight.

I don't understand your point.

He is a big man, who takes a good grab, reads the play well, and kicks no better or worse than any other AFL big man.

If you're after a designated kicker to get through a zone, he's not that, but if you're after a footballer, who will be able to play the big man role, with some AFL development in him, he is that.

It seems odd to rule out a footballer based on only being 'par' in only one aspect of his game...and Fevola is available if you're only after a big man who can kick straight.

All I'm saying is don't judge him on a few shanks, because they are not the norm. He is woth investigating by your club (although it does seem Brisbane is all but inked in)

my point was that you said his kicking was about par at this level, which as a forward would be his key attribute. i'm saying that when it comes to accurately kicking the ball through the big sticks, we've been rubbish at it the last couple of years from the forward line and need better than par to come into the team. we've got enthusiastic forwards who apply pressure, we don't have a reliable mark and kick. but yeah, sounds like brisbane have him wrapped up and from reports on our board, there are more appropriate options for us to be investigating.

Aaah. My misunderstanding.

I was pretty much looking at it as him being used by you guys as a backman, not a forward.

He has played both ends. Personally, I think he is better suited to a role in the defence.

He is certainly not considered as a 'forward' by Hawthorn supporters, just as a KPP

no worries :thumbsu:
i remember his debut against us. he did everything right but kick on goal and i agree with Lachie in that he'd probably make a decent CHB as he reads the play well. we're pretty well stocked on tall defenders, though.
