Just heard.

F**k that sucks that he'll most likely retire without a flag to his name. Funniyl enough, had Malthouse moved him onto Hawkins he could have possibly turned that game last year and had one now.

:(

One of my all time favourite pies used to love watching pre freo Taz take speccys every week then he went to the purple crud and was one the best defenders in the league showed his versatility, well done Taz on a great career mate. Thnx for the memories!

Taz, I will always have the highest respect for you, mate. Hopefully we get our shit together and you can finish off with a deserved flag. Thanks for the memories.

Yeah, it's official;

Chris Tarrant, one of the most charismatic Collingwood players of his time, will retire from the game at the season’s end.

Tarrant informed his team-mates and coaches before training yesterday of his decision to bring down the curtain on a 15 year career as distinguished as it was memorable.

Thanks for the memories Taz, and may you got out with a bang.:(

He will be interviewed on the Club tonight, no presser today.

Shattard but not suprised. He was my favourite player along with Didak before he left.

Thanks for coming back and I am never gonna forget the mark on Scarlet's head and the goal after the siren in 2003 against the Crows.

Thanks for the memories!!

There is a school of thought that believes players who announce their retirement before the finish of their season play like they have retired thereafter. Leigh Brown did it last year, so lets hope it does not happen to Tarrant this year. I would have been happier if he had left the announcement till after our final's campaign.

Devastating news. Hope he goes out with a premiership medallion around his neck.

Things are going from bad to worse. Last year we lose Davis and Brown and now Taz. All key players :(

Charismatic is surely the right word.

Tarrant gave me the impresion that his talent was unfulfilled, and that by the time he got his mind right, his body was no longer able to perform at the same superhuman level.

One of the most athletic players to grace the field, his presence in the forward line gave me so much hope during the dark years.

Luv ya Taz!

Thanks Mick.:p That was always Mick Malthouse's comment, yet Leigh Brown was one of our best players in the losing grand final side last year.

If we can get to the grand final, and have Tarrant relatively fit, he could go out with a bang as he would leave nothing on the table in his final game.

Thanks for everything Taz!!!

Boys time to make amends for not seeing Mick off with a flag last year - do the right thing!!

And then there are the players who play some of their best footy after they announce due to the fact they know that this is it and go balls to the wall.
