Tarrent in the wrong spot

Tarrent needs to be on the Half Forward Flank. Thats where he has been his most dangerous. Mick should take a gamble and stick Morrison at FF. After all I havent seen many kids bag 9 goals in a senior match like he did in tassie.

Could anyone pass the ball properly in the Williamstown team last year. Hardly a great place to bring up kids. Maxwell did better in the Collingwood seniors than he ever did playing in Williamstown. Rowe as well.

Tarrant needs players with skill in middle to deliver the ball well as he is a leading player.

When we get better players and more depth in the midfield i reckon tarrant will kick more goals.

Thats a simplification i know.

In his last game for willy (a practice game at that) he kicked 5 before getting injured.
Willy were a very one-dimensional side when going forward last year, they only kicked it to Baldwin (who's now gone) and sometimes Kinnear (also gone). Now that both are gone Morrison at least will be given a chance at willy, it is hard for a strong but slow forward to establish himself as a forward when there are 2 other main targets.

Chuck a Walker/C.Cloke full forward and Rocca can play CHF while Tarrant plays his normal role he played so well in 2003 which is not full forward.

My lineup would see

Cam/Tex at FF in the goal square with a crumber or 2, (Davis, Lockyer, Didak) and a resting midfielder (Bucks, Burns) beside them. Kick the ball to the top of the square, Cam and Tex can provide a contest and have the crumbers to mop up

Put Rocca at 35m out and give him room to move up the centre square.

Place Caracella on one flank, moving from the 35m up to the wing area and providing a link or goal kicking option. Put Tarrant on the other flank and give him freedom to the whole zone from about20m out from goal all the way up to the wing on the left side of field. Give him room to move and he will fire. Is a fantastic pass and his OP may be affecting his goal kicking so push him out and get him the bring the ball in

Have Taz run up the wing, take the mark and turn around and put it lace out on Roccas chest. We need to open up our forward line and put our best kicks, Caracella, Bucks, Taz, Lonie in the wing/centre area to deliver the ball to our forwards who are destroyed by ******** delivery. Also allows Taz and Cara to still be goal kicking options and provide 1-2 goals a game like a midfielders role. We need a Cam/Tex/Davis?Lockyer to stand up and make a difference. After Monday I think Tarks would be best suited to a pocket

Why would you want Tarrant running up to the wing when he is such a good contested mark? I agree that he shouldn't be full forward, but I wouldn't play him so far up the ground that he can't kick goals.

I have two big concerns with Tazza. He has incredible strength around the chest, shoulders and arms but he lacks leg and trunk strength. This means that although he is very good at siding up next to players, when he gets in front, he is pushed under the ball too easily. Tredrea, Hall and Lloyd all have very strong legs and torsos and hold theor ground in front much easier.

My other concern is, he isn't damaging enough when running back into the 50. He will lead out and then trot back to the goal square. If you watch Tredrea, he is a great exponent of doubling his efforts after a lead.

I personally think Tarrant could be one of the best 2 or 3 forwards in the league. When he gets is 2nd effort leads up, then I would make him CHF and put Anthony back in the square.
