Very likely but the stadium might be up in the air now, depending on what Lambie and/or the other independents demand for their supply.

Labor could theoretically form government with the Greens and Lambie (and possibly an independent or two) but it would be such a clusterfcuk I doubt they even attempt or agree to such an alliance. Opposition would be more beneficial to them imo.
Lambie seems nuts lol

How many of these $10 "foundation membership" happy meals are going to transfer over to full fledged memberships?

Since 2015 Tasmanian taxpayers have already forked out $20 million to Hawthorn ($37 per person) to have them there playing in front of 10000 at a university park. They don't have the population to contribute meaningfully to sustaining their own team and give welfare checks for two Victorian based teams. Something has to give.

Originally hawks crowds were double that, and still have a 10k members there, so seats are paid for whether filled or not

Crowds have waned, but playing such as west coast etc yet again? They are sick of that

So Rebecca White has just stood down as Labor Leader. This just might … maybe … hopefully … open the way for Tasmanian Labor to change their opposition to having a new stadium - especially when the Federal Labor Gov’t have committed to paying $240 million of the bill for it - almost a third of the total.

Actually I’m surprised the construction union/s in Tasmania haven’t pressured or just forced the Tasmanian ALP to back the stadium project, just like the unions have directed the Victorian Labor Gov’t into all the “big build” projects.

What's the break down of seats in Tasmania now? Surely there would be people on the labor side willing to cross over for the stadium to get through. Particularly now that they won't have another election for 4 years and it will be all forgotten about by then anyway.

It'll be forgotten in 4 years, the very year the team enters the comp?

The electorate won't care that some labor members voted for the stadium by then, they'll be a bunch of new issues on the table and if they are that upset about the stadium, they'll vote against the libs.

Unfortunately, the Labor Party have very strict internal rules against any MP crossing the floor to vote against the party position e.g. this happened in Victoria in 2022 -
Occasionally, the Labor Party will allow for a free vote, depending on the issue e.g. euthanasia, but it’s rare. So it’s really up to the party itself to change it’s position under the new leader, whoever he/she will be.

Heard someone say the Devils have so far purchased over 41,000 shares of the iBit ETF as a medium-term play with the foundation cash. Not a bad way to park the $. Free hit at a boom result that could get the club humming. Cheeky Devils.

Good I was hoping they'd invest it in something.

Can this team actually sell 11 game memberships? They will lock out generations.

IMO 3 game memberships should be max. Otherwise the next generation will never get to go.

They will only be able to have what 18k seated members?

$1,640,000USD at today’s current price after dropping half of a percent.

May have invested in it but those numbers (41,000 shares) doesn’t stack up.

Probably good point considering how AFL started in SA with the Crows.

You probably want to do a tier membership system with 30-40% having full season access. 30-40% accessible to 3 game memberships and the remaining open to corporates, general admission and opposition fan bases.

The full season access may need to be redefined if Tasmania are looking to split their games between Hobart and Launceston.

They can’t sell a full home game membership to every game for fairness imo.

Also if they do it will limit their membership tally? Their rally could seriously stall due to not being able to sell seats.

They will also have to do deals with other teams to get their members more access to away games as part of their membership package imo

They don't have to change their position. Their position going into the election was "we will build a stadium once the team proves itself". So all they have to do is say that they team has proved itself, maybe by pointing at the ridiculous membership numbers we have already.

A waitlist for the medallion club type memberships in the new stadium might swing it. Most stadiums do this

Yep. Could be that easy.

Random question but any word on a clash guernsey? I assume the recently unveiled guernsey will be their main one.

The announced one is to appeal to tradition marketing the new team. There will be later announcements, but if you are marketing, and the start is a few years out, you need to pace your announcements

I’m guessing the burns er might be solid green, or solid pink or yellow, a solid jumper is unique in the afl, carlton freo and port being the closest, and green certainly is
