ExTasDeeMan said:well the best of luck to Simon Taylor - I was in Boarding School with the big fella for 4 years and have known him since i was taller then him (quite a while).
His old nickname was Chudhead - due to the amazing size of his head.
Never thought he would play AFL, although he is actually a very good intellect as well - best of luck.
If we can develop a good solid team like the Cats with a few stars thrown in i'll be very happy. Go the young guns.cats56 said:The most positive thing i've seen from you guy's in quite a while.
Good luck to all your youngsters, as you probably realise there will be some pain as there form fluctuates.
You guys have a number of players that were just not going to make it so this is your first step in a long process.
Like us you will cop some beltings ( but that was going to happen anyway) along the way but the knowledge that some of these youngsters will become very good players when they mature will help ease the pain.
At last you have something to look forward to.
Good luck to the youngsters.
Well Gomer, all I can add is SURPRISE! Surprise! surprise!Grendel said:It's a squad only at this stage. Be HIGHLY surprised if they go in with that many (a third of the side in essence) containing one and three (presuming Franklin, Miller and Thurgood are all kept in the seniors) gamers.

well i went to hutchins but didn't board. good bloke big simon. best of luck to him on debut. Let's hope he ends up lasting longer than our own timmy hazell.ExTasDeeMan said:well the best of luck to Simon Taylor - I was in Boarding School with the big fella for 4 years and have known him since i was taller then him (quite a while).

While Clarke may not be in the Hawks best 22 list in a year or two, I think it will be because he gets passed by other players and not because he's put in a series of substandard performances. Based on last week, I'd say his game was at least OK. He had 16 posessions, laid 6 tackles, took 6 marks, and kicked a goal. Surely this performance warranted another shot this week. His one turnover was glaring but not unforgivable because time was running down and the Hawks need to drive forward and score two goals. My vote is to play him until one of the youngsters is ready to take his place on a permanent basis!andrew coombs said:Concur with everyone regarding the new boys. What the hell though, is Tim Clarke doing in the 22? He is clearly blessed. I'd like to know what kind of unforgivable error riddled performance he has to put in to be sent where he belongs. If we are going to go with a possesion based game plan ( see flooding ) then serial turnover merchants like Clarke are a serious liability.
