Thoughts on the Win vs the Woof Woof's

  • Umpiring was terrible. Though Vozzo the Clown was one
  • Sidebottom was Fantastic and might be out of his Slump
  • Not a Good Game by the Talls but Battled well
  • Dick was Usless
  • Wood was good in the Ruck

Changes for vs Cats:

In: Fasolo

Out: Dick

I thought we actually got a good run with umps. Especially in the 2nd half. Also, Beams comes into the side before Fasolo, easily. Agree that Dick will be the one to make way though.

As much as I hate to say it, Dicky almost has to be the one to make way for Beams.

No way we play a Fasolo against Geelong, he would get slaughtered.

We have the choice between Tarrant, Beams, MaCaffer, MaCarthy and Goldsack, no players will be debuting against the Cats.

Dick just needs more time, he should be groomed to play between 10-12 senior games this season, and have him right to go for the finals (doesn't guarantee him a start in the finals), because we will get injuries, we will get players who drop form at times in the season, and that's where the list above and Dick come into calculation.

Changes for the Cats;

In: Tarrant, Beams
Out: Dick, Buckley

(If Jolly doesn't come up, as expected).

Fasolo will Defiantly play against Geelong;)
I'm not having a go at the kid, he has massive potential, but Geelong isn't the time to play him.

We have Adelaide, West Coast, Stkilda and Melbourne after Geelong, give him and some youngsters games then, but please don't play him against Geelong, we can't afford to carry anyone.

Fair Enough but we are playing Geelong in the VFL that week too;)

He got you there Matty!

Haha, that's a DTM/Tradedraft special there.:D

On Fasolo, he will play senior footy this year, I think he's proven that now, and it's got a lot to do with his physical shape and size, he is just ready to play AFL, and not be too daunted by it.

No he didn't.

Minson got 50 odd hit outs or it seemed like it, in the 3rd and early first and last gave silver service to his on ballers. So yeah he was smashed

He was ok around the ground but he was still smashed

56-29 was the final count (Minson over Wood), with no one else on the ground getting more then 6 (Leeroy).

We were smashed in the ruck, but I was impressed with Wood around the ground, especially in the first half.

Wood had 15 disposals (9k, 6hb), while Minson had 14(9k, 5hb).

Minson beat Wood, pretty simple to see, even if stats don't always tell the whole story.

Wood needs to improve his ruckwork on tonights' performance, Minson isn't exactly elite as a tap ruck either, so it is concerning.

Had to work so haven't seen the game but....

I think it's interesting that a fair few people have mentioned that Wood was okay around the ground but poor in the ruck.

What I've seen of him I WOOD have expected the opposite.

Scored 112 in SC, from the above comments it seems once again, you can't believe in stats.

I think you are probably right, Matty, but I would love to see Dick get another few games to get up to speed. Having he and Krak using their skills in the forward line would be electric.

I guess this assume that Johnson will come up as well (which is probably right given we have a week off and he just had back spasms.)

The problem with Wood was that he played well but at the same time he had no control over what Minson did, lacked accountability. It was like both ruckmen were playing loose of each other. In saying that I still thought Wood played a good game, but it wasn't a great game.
