First off I don't understand everyone toasting Fevola for all he has done. He has single handily set our club back several years. We tried to deal with him and his rubbish behavior for year after year.

Finally when we are a chance to get back in the top 4 and have a run at the Premiership he does all this further crap. I for one will not thank Brendon Fevola. Brendon needs to apologize to all the Carlton Supporters / Managers / Coaches etc who put up with him. He is not a "TEAM" player, Football is a team sport.

I couldn't agree more with the people on the board saying no player is above the team. Fevola always thought he was and I for one hope he never wins a Premiership and we do and he regrets his actions.

Sadly this is a 29 year old man who is at the maturity level of a 12 year old. I couldn't really care less if he changes his act or not now and the reason why is HE DOESN'T PLAY AT CARLTON.

If you don't play at Carlton why would you can anymore? He's gone deal with it, I have. Anyone who is going to rip up their membership can do so and go to Brisbane. I'm sick of toasting this baboon.

Get stuffed and CARN THE *****ING BLUES!!!!

I get that you are pissed off, and i'll only talk for myself, but following the dark ages he has been one of the shining lights, he has put up with a crap team for 8 of the last 10 years, and has carried us through the mud. I'm not thanking him for being a great bloke (which when not drunk, he is) i'm thanking him for sticking by the club and leaving me with plenty of memories. He didn't walk out on us. Just because he made a fool of himself, doesn't mean it is his fault that he is in a Brisbane Guernsey.

Who's fault is it then? The Carlton Football Club for having to make a stand because he let the club and supporters down time and time again? Is it the bar person's fault for serving him? Is it Judd fault he can't control him?

It is 100% Fevolas fault he is a drunk idiot and by age 29 and all the help is able to get, shows he is a immature boy.

So who's fault is it then? Make no mistake it is ALL his fault. Here's an individual who thinks he's above every other AFL player and can do whatever the hell he wants and get away with it.

Well sorry mate, not anymore time to F*** you off to some other idiots who will put up with that crap.

Don't forget he knew we were losing patience with his off field behaviour, he knew he can't control his actions when drinking, he knew that he had to do street talk, he knew he was going to be on live TV in front of the nation in one of the AFL's biggest nights of the year, he knew the club had given him one last chance AND YET he still chose to ignore all of this and fulfill his selfish desires.

I was kind of sitting on the fence as to letting him go but now that we have, great, it feels like a huge weight has come off the shoulders of the Carlton Football Club and now we can focus on developing a young list that will take us forward for many years to come.

How? By fining him? Dragging him? You need to come to terms with the fact that Carlton played a part in this, they helped create a monster. If he had of been made to miss games and not feel like he could get away with whatever he wanted, maybe it would have never have come to this. Yes, Fev is a ******** and it was time for him to go, but Carlton played a part in their eventually being a time to go.

i'm sure he'll be on his best behaviour, as well doing his best to impress his new teammates. in fevolas shoes, this means tackling and chasing, but also plenty of attempts at one handed marks and selfish snaps. which were pretty damn exciting but lots of times, also obviously selfish. personally, as much as i loved watching him play, i just cannot imagine him even beginning to equate 'being a good player' with anything other than flashiness. he could find his style cramped.

I say that is pretty much bullshit. We may or may not have helped him but how is it that the rest of the list don't **** up like him - did we do something for them that we didn't do for Fev

He didn't go out to the Brownlow with the intention of ****ing up our club being an absolute tool. He didn't do a Luke Ball or an Andrew Lovett and walk out on the club. He got absolutely smashed, and from then on, it got completly haywire, but he still loves the club!

I'm all for this current trade, i think Carlton did exceptionally well out of it, and although i love him, it is a relief to not have to worry about Brendan, but you can still appreciate what he has put in at the club, and how much he loves the club!

I'm glad that Carlton showed some balls, but there was no "if you get smashed, you will be traded" calls by the Carlton Football Club (as far as i'm aware). He didn't get traded for getting smashed, he got traded for the things he did whilst smashed, and i am not making excuses for him, but he didn't exactly plan what he did

The man doesn't drink all year, and he had an opportunity for the 1st time in months to drink, which is no excuse to get absolutely ****ed. But he has an alcohol problem, i don't particually think he planned getting ****ed, it is a disease!

Although i am glad at the trade being done, i am exceptionally grateful that we have Swan and co to take care of the deal, and take care of it they did, after the first day, where my emotions got in thhe way of me being rational, i trusted the CFC to do the right thing, and they lived up to the expectations!

Yet i still appreciate Fevola for all the good memories, for leading us during the dark era, hell for coming to my bar mitzvah 3 years ago. And wether we play Brisbane in Melbourne or Brisbane, i won't be cheering the guy on, as i support the footy club over Fevola, but i won't be booing him. What ill be doing is cheering on my club and cheering on Jameson and Bower and Thornton and Austin to do their best to win against what couild possibly be the best forward line in the modern era

Read below again - what don't you get about him be responsible for his actions

The thing that will piss me off most is if he goes up there and behaves like a model citizen.

To me that will show that all along he just used the club to get what he wanted and never respected anything about our club.

Instead chosing to use it as his own private playground often to the detriment of the club and team.

Time will tell in regards to this.

I say that is pretty much bullshit. We may or may not have helped him but how is it that the rest of the list don't **** up like him - did we do something for them that we didn't do for Fev

The rest of the list isn't the issue, most of them obviously have their head screwed on somewhat straight. But, we also had a bloke with obvious behavior issues on our list and failed to deal with it properly before it got out of hand, because he could kick goals. Don't you ponder how things might have turned out if he had been suspended for six weeks after getting the barman in a headlock?

Agree with most of the posts here. If Fevola somehow does get his act together will be disappointing for us blues fans. Maybe in the end going to Brisbane is best for him.

Either way he's gone and time to move on. If he continues to be an ass which is most likely I will be happy that he is gone more than ever :)

Fev, like Carey will be squeaky clean... for awhile. Leopard, spots...

I would say, had he stayed he would of been a 'model citizen'. Had he ****ed up again, you could bet your hard earned that No club would look at him.

Yep, it's all true. Fev ****ed up, ****ed us up for another couple of years and now a ****ing team from up north will reap the benefits one would presume.
Life's a bitch.

We're better off without this lout, Brendan Fevola

But it was not enough for Mr Mathieson, who was delighted Fevola was finally gone.

"Really we should have done it a long time ago." he said.

"A bloke like that has no respect for anyone, for his mates or for his club.

"I don't think blokes like that ever wake up. He's got so much talent but after he finishes football he's unemployable. Who would want to do business with him?"

i find it funny everyone is saying "if fev changes his behaviour up north then we'll have a right to be pissed off"

first off Carlton have let him get away with his bad behaviour for how many years? obviously they knew more than anyone something like this was possible to happen

and secondly maybe this trade and public humiliation will play a big role in getting his behaviour on track, as a wake up call. just because he is 29 doesnt mean he cant learn/change/improve himself and an incident like this could certainly be the catalyst. then again thats yet to be seen, i think he atleast deserves a chance at a fresh start

either way his behaviour was always going to be accepted at carlton until he was traded or worse, so accept it for what it is and move on.

Fev always loved the blues, but the club basically let him get away with whatever he wanted so they are as much to blame in my opinion. yes fevs a grown man and can make his own decisions and ****ed up, but carlton shouldve had a tighter leash on him knowing of what he is capable of. especially when we keep hearing about "the brand/image" of AFL clubs.

either way good luck to him and im happy that its no longer our worry and we did well off the trade. he has entertained everyone on this board long enough with his antics and ill certainly miss him, good luck to the fev.

As a long term Carlton member i was dissapointed yesterday in hearing what we traded for Fev. To all the pathetic members bagging CFC for there decision perhaps you should open your eyes. Fev is the only one we should be angry at, he has embarresed himself and Carlton many many times on and off the field over the years and i feel we have made a great decision for our future. After reading the Hun this morning i am disgusted in our supporters, if you feel you you need to hand in your membership CFC will be better off with out you. Please dont come back in a few years when we are a serious contender.
Fev is a great player but i believe with our young list is along way away from reaching its potential and we will have some great sucess in the next 5 years. Lets all move on and get behind Hendo and our young list for many great years ahead.
