C: Black. Hasleby, Schammer

F: Polak, McPharlin, Medhurst
FOLL: Longmuir, J.Carr, Bell
I/C (from): Dodd, Murphy, Peake, Sandilands, Schofield. Smith, Walker
IN: Bell, Polak, Walker

Sounds good to me, bit surprised Hayden didn't come in as he seems to be the most match fit out of MCarr, Walker, Hayden. Guess he's missed a lot of footy though!

HA HA! Selection Dilemma! :)

HA HA! Selection Dilemma! :)

The dilemma becomes, how to get these players back into the team? We are running out of games to get them up to match fitness.
M Carr has proven he can get up to speed with minimal game time.
Hayden was been out of AFL for nearly a year. Can he pick up the tempo ?

Walker had his detractors before his injury. Without him we looked slow and the penny dropped just how important he was. Can he come back and adjust to the tempo ?

Belly hasnt played for a month. His conditioning will be down as well.

Polak has missed a lot of games this year.

Our backline though not outstanding would be getting some confidence with each other and building their own dynamic. It seems a shame to restructure it. It has to happen though.

For me, the easy move is Schofield.. gone.

The hard decision is Spud and Smith.

Including Bell, Polak and Walker in the same game could backfire.

CC and match committee are dammed if they do and dammed if they dont.

On the positive side our forward line is looking settled which gives an opportunity to rotate polly, jlo and sandi through a pocket.

Looking forward to seeing Peake, Schammer and Walker burning the grass at the same time.

From what I heard they both passed fitness tests on Tuesday night as well as the follow ups on Thursday.

I see the changes as :-

Bell in, Smith out.

Polak in, Johnson out.

Walker in, Schoie out.

The question is, will Walker actually play?. He offers a darn good option, but I just hope he is 100% fit and can pick the tempo up straight away.

Johnson or Murphy.

In a game measured in seconds and millimeters I'd go with Johnson, he, of the two has to develop his game more to be a kpp during 06.

By including him I dont believe we lose anything (spud has done nothing wrong) but for the long term development it becomes necessary he keeps getting game time.

Also I cant see great positive by including Polly. Spud seems more mobile, he appears to have a brain so let polly go back to wafl and show some desparation to get back.

Having said that. MJ will probably finish up playing wafl, spud will look like he needs a zimmer frame and polly will get 3 brownlow points.

Schofield still remains- unbelievable sorry correction believable.

This is the FFC Match Comm at work here.

What about Gilmore. Works his guts off in the WAFL, plays a great game against Sydney then dropped.

What the FFC sees in Schofield, well only heaven knows that.

Port fans would be delighted at our stupidity to get Schofield at the minute.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Walker get a late call up - he's not named for Peel today, and he's hardly getting his match fitness up by sitting on the sidelines watching. Smith and Murphy (the other emergencies) have been named for their WAFL teams. CC may very well pull a swifty, as he's been known to do this year. Hope it's Schofield that gets the @rse if he does.

Interesting.

Hard to see him mot playing after CC making lots of noise about him being the only one that has the speed to keep Davey under control.

I see Macca is out of the Sharks line-up and Ryley Dunn is in.

Yeah I saw that too... The reason given for Macca was he's in for Freo...

Matt Carr is in for the Gummies too.

Surely the Sharks are a better line-up with Macca in - a good chance to go 4 in a row today.

Yeah - weird, huh? Must have been a misprint or something. But even that doesn't make sense because he's either playing or he's not. If he's not named for either Freo or EF, then is he injured? Methinks not. He was an emergency last week when EF had the bye - you'd think if he's not in for Freo, he'd be an automatic inclusion for the Gummies. Sheesh - they need all the help they can get. ;)

All will be revealed by this afternoon or tomorrow at the latest I suppose.

My young fella is almost wetting his pants with excitement at the prospect of his beloved Sharkies going 4 in a row. In the nicest way possible, I just remind him where the Mighty Red and Whites are sitting on the ladder, and where the Gummies are. Just to keep him in line... :)

I asked him today if he;d like to go to teh game. he said, yeah, but it's all the way up at EFTel. Haven't told him that it's actually not that far (I'm sure he thinks it's in bloody Meekatharra or somewhere equally as far away), or esle he'd be wanting to go every game. Might take him down to Freo Oval instead so he can watch the Bulldogs demolish the Cardies instead. ;)

Couldn't imagine you doing it any other way. ;)

Bung him on the train.

He's 8.

But also rather capable and quite independent (has been flying on his own up to Kal to visit his cousin each year since he was 5) - he'd be off on the bloody train here there and everywhere if I let him do it just the once.

Forget that idea then.

He was complaining to me the other day that it's not fair that kids can't get their licences.

He also said a few months back that he can't wait till he's 18. Ok - why? Well, then I can go to the pub. You go to the pub a lot with us (Clancy's in Freo is a favoured hang out of ours - a few beers in the beer garden, good food and a huge grassed area for the kids to play - kick a footy, climb the trees etc, etc). Not the same, he said. Well what do you mean then? I want to be able to sit up at the bar and drink beer, says he.

8 going on 25. I thought that only applied to girls.

Melbourne have dropped Bizzell

I'm not a fan of either Schofield or Headland. I'd like to see Murphy in place of Headland in the above team and Walker for Schofield. Headland to me is a show pony and and gets the easy gets and still isnt a consistent finisher for a player of his apparent $$ calibre. I'll probably get flamed but there it is.

Hayden, Matty Carr, Haddrill starts to cause a few headaches for next year.
