I use zone for defending kick ins and balanced for kicking out.

Usually I try and stab a short pass inside 50 to get a mark if I feel my man is open enough and then work it out from there.

If nobody is open, play on, long bomb out of the 50, spoil and pray lol.

:D Glad to hear it dude!!

Getting used to it, but the overlay of the best players for the position you're swapping with is a bit confusing. It's got good intention though.

One thing is, there isn't a tab for the bench. You have to go to the bottom of the 'All' tab. It's a bit annoying when you want to swap someone on to the bench coz you have to find the bench player in the All section, instead of just scrolling across to an interchange tab.

I actually don't mind it and find it pretty easy now. That being said it was difficult at first but now it's pretty quick and easy. Especially like the fact you can see who is the highest rated for that position with one button.

+1. Really like it now I'm used to it. Good stuff boomer_tm.

As for tagging, I normally only tag key forwards if they are particularly dangerous and I use Gibbo for the job - he's a beast of a defender if used right.

I also normally tag the oppositions best 1 or 2 forward flankers and/or pockets (unless the players don't warrant a tag).

Will sometimes then set Sewell (center) to tag the opposition rover, however if you set your midfield to balanced in the team tactics, your center will normally stick to the opposition rover anyway.

From there, Bateman or a player who is down on form tags a winger if it is warranted (if it is a good player) and Lewis or Bruce put an offensive tag on a dangerous opposition rebounder in the backline.

Also if I'm up against a Cox or Sandilands etc. I will tag the ruck position or set my ruckman to 'defensive' so he drifts back.

Tactics vary from week to week in my season but one style I do like to use against weaker opponents is this set up;

Interchange - High
Play Style - Balanced
Ball Movement - Balanced
------------------------
Forwards - Attacking
Midfield - Balanced
Ruckman - Depends on opposition
Backline - Attacking
Backline Positioning - In Front / Side-by-Side (again it depends on the opposition)

Kickouts set to Zone and Balnced.

This setup feels and plays very similar to the Hawks current real life set up. With the backmen, if you do try and set them to attacking like I have here, make sure to tag any dangerous forwards as tagging overrides any other game plan tactics that may coincide with the tag. Preferably, tag 3 forwards. Make sure your other 3 defenders who aren't tagging are either good rebounders or good aerialists (or both - Hodge;)) and make sure they are on less dangerous opposition players as these guys will be the ones running to the fall of the ball for a chopout and generally leaving their opponent to help out at ground level.

They will also push up the ground a bit to offer leads when your team is in possession, so disposal is critical with this gameplan as a turnover can be costly.

With my forwards also pushing up the ground bar the full forward (Roughie or Buddy depending on opposition), it becomes a bit of a clutter in the midfield and is excellent for having numbers around the ball. When entering the forward line, there's a lot of space for the FF to work with if the kick is powered correctly for him, and his teammates can be seen streaming in from the midfield to provide an option also. Again very much like the Hawks play irl.

Works well for me on legend difficulty but I don't think it could work as well online because you can't really set tags as you can't see the opposition names in the tagging menu for online.

Hey folks,

Just interested to hear how everyone is finding the Team Management/Tactics menus now that people have had time to use them/get used to them?

This has been one of the main areas of the menus that have had a lot of criticism and Im intrigued to hear peoples feedback.

The most common issue, has been the change of format, from a traditional layout similar to TV coverage or like the image below:

teamlist_GFReplay.jpg

Reasons why a layout like this was not used were:
1. to allow 2 players to make team changes at the same time.
2. Screen space - A layout such as the image would need to be almost full screen for readable text sizes and to allow space for navigational information. But would therefore mean only one player making changes at a time.
3. Tried to be clever ;)

Would definitley look into trying to allow for a "pitch overview" format in future, but interested to hear what you guys have to say.

Note: I realise asking this is possibly opening up barrage of hate comments and useless negative criticism but any helpful constructive criticism or suggestions would be welcome. (y) ;)
That image there looks awesome! I have learned how to use the current one but it looks really dull to me. Should've implemented the full oval even though it wouldn't allow 2 players to change their teams at the same time.
