McGuane out? FFS! He was easily our best defender last week. I hope that it's soley for match-up purposes.

Morton out is a little bit of a shock, esspecially when he has been better then Riewoldt, Edwards and White. I'm guessing Schultz might play foward?

Can't belive McMohan is still in there, can't let Wallaces "prized" recruit play 2nd's football now can we :thumbsd:

Tambling is Wallace's prized recruit.

how the hell can we even consider Graham for a call up?? McGuane is as stiff as my morning glory

i reckon this week is going to go terribly wrong :(

that still has me stumped
mcguane is athletic, has speed and can play on small to tall forwards
polak on the otherhand has the turning circle of a tram and has trouble staying in touch with his own shadow

just when i thought terry had it together he makes decision that confuses everyone

If this week goes wrong it'll be worse than last year when I ended up face down on the floor for 15 minutes absolutely shattered.

If we lose to the complete rabble which is Essendon tomorrow our season is over.

I'm very afraid.

you're kidding aren't you? 27 disposals and you want him dropped:rolleyes:

if blokes from Tigerland got dropped for a few clangers we wouldn't have had a side the last god knows how many years. Ridiculous mate.

McGuane very stiff:thumbsd:

Also if you go from being 'confident' to 'afraid' because McGuane and Morton got punted then you're a goose.

If by chance we stuff this up, it won't be because of selection, too tall or whatever doesn't matter as Essendon are a rabble.

Selections aren't a huge surprise, Morton very quiet last week and matchups can be a struggle for McGuane sometimes. Just calm down everybody:)

B: Jordan McMahon, Will Thursfield, Jake King
HB: Chris Newman, Kelvin Moore, Chris Hyde
C: Matthew Richardson, Shane Tuck, Brett Deledio
HF: Shane Edwards, Jay Schulz, Joel Bowden
F: Nathan Brown, Jack Riewoldt, Richard Tambling
Foll: Troy Simmonds, Kane Johnson, Nathan Foley
I/C: Graham Polak, Matt White, Trent Cotchin, Adam Pattison
EMG: Kayne Pettifer, Daniel Connors, Luke McGuane
In: Pattison, Schulz
Out: Mitch Morton, Luke McGuane

Morton and Mcguane are filthily unlucky. :( Especially McGuane, thought his work last week was above average.

yeah copy that dude but got a feeling that we have their FL covered, so i would be tipping its more about team balance and what we want out of this game and that is a ____ing huge score. i.e. team is geared to score heavily without really needing to overdo the defending. ;)

Well that's what I thought but then you have Schulz in to replace him, who plays better back but I assume we'll play him forward. :o

I reckon we're a bit top heavy with small mobile player (Morton) out for a tall (Patto or Schulz, take your pick) but anyway the proof will be in the pudding.

It's a big game, we lose this and Terry will back page of the papers all week with all and sundry sticking the boots in, it's a pressure game we need to win convincingly.

we will win by 100. dont sweat it. they only have to maintain the same attack on the ball they have for the last 4 weeks and its party time by half time. ;)

Some more experience back for the Bombers this week. McPhee, Watson, Dyson, Lovett-Murray. While not stars, good workmanlike players who will at least work hard for the team.
Won't be the walk in the park people expect. We are Richmond after all.

ye have little faith there dude. Me thinks we were Richmond as we have grown to know us...but seen enough in the last 4 weeks to believe we are not what we have been. Consistent performers for 4 weeks, i bet each week you and basically most of us had that niggling thought as to when we would lapse back into the same old same old. But we have set a new benchmark now, IMO.
This game will teach us how to kill when our prey is ready to be killed. i.e. it will set us up for the next time we come up against the type of teams we have let off the hook in the last 4 weeks, with different results.
Lets face it, in all the games except the dawks, we have had total control for a real good period of the game, but havent put in on the scoreboard. The bummers will fix that for us. ;)

But they have also lost expirenced campaingers in Mal Micheal, Adam Ramanuskas and Jason Laycock. None of these players have been in great form this year however everyone knows Fletcher is overrated at fullback, and with only McPhee down there to help him, a foward line packed with Schultz, Richo, Riewoldt and Polak might find them out.

Bachar Houli also isn't playing which is a big win for us as he has been good all year, and I hear Jobe Watson is still injured and will be withdrawn. Probbaly for Pears or Laycock to give them more hieght

Nailed it right there Cogga.
Still the niggling doubt in the back of my mind. Don't get me wrong. I've seen more over the past 5 weeks to get enthused about than I have sicne Swooper was in charge. But footy's a funny game. i hope we're the ones laughing tomorrow night.

well put
to be honest ive gone into every week thinking that..this is the week we unravel..and to there credit they have proved me wrong :)
we've been consistent but im still worried that we could lapse at some point and undo all of the good work we have done
if we can keep up or raise this benchmark for the rest of the year i'll be happy with that..the results on the ladder dont matter (poet and i didnt even know it :p) id rather see a team that pushed every other team in a year rebuilding after winning a spoon

Heard the same thing on Watson.

Be interesting to see who matches up on Richo if he starts on a wing. Wouldn't be surprised if he plays there all night and gives Schulz, Polak and Jack all plenty of time up forward.

Ryder is probably a good match-up pace wise, but he won't have the body to go with Richo when he goes forward. It's a frightening thing really.
Why didn't we wake up to this and play Richo like this five years ago? Fuggen Frawley putting 10kg on him and trying to turn him into a monster forward. man I hate that dick.
