great to see nicoski get a call up for his first game.

it's interesting to see green get a recall after just one week out. does anybody know how he went in the WAFL?

Green was named in Easts best players and had about 28 disposals...

not that it matters and I know Dockers fans will come down hard on this but I believe Nicoski is a better player than Gilmore. Eagerly looking forward to his debut.

Dasler I am interested in your assesment of Gilmour V Nicoski. Being in the East I have only seen them in AFL games, so I would appreciate it if you could elaborate . You would have seen a lot of them in the WAFL.

From the little I have seen of Gilmour he has impressed me.

Nicoski 187 79 born 83
Gilmour 188 60 born 83.

Both left footed.

Regards.

What does Paul Johnson have to do to get a game. From memory he kicked 4 goals last week or the week before ? Although Staker provided a handy target on the Weekend at CHF ?

Your thoughts ?

Firstly for everyone it's Daniel Gilmore . I felt Gilmore lacked physicality personally at WAFL level however he seems to have raised the bar for himself at AFL level thus far. If you are impressed them prepare to get impressed even more.

Mark Nicoski is a beautiful raking left foot running back. Explodes from the back half and is probably a 80m player. Runs the ball 30m and then will kick it 50m hitting you on the chest. Has some development physically to work on.

I see Nicoski and Waters being a great combination for us running the ball off the HBF in the future. Definitely a talent and was a standout in the WAFL over last season. I am a fan most definitely.

I want Nicoski to do well because he is best mates with a good mate of mine but let's see how he goes in an AFL game before you declare him better than Gilmore Dasler ;) WAFL and AFL are completely different and Gilmore has shown through the pre-season and the start of this season that he will be a quality AFL footballer.

Thanks dasler, sounds good.

I would like to comment on his combination with Waters. I remember watching SA V WA at Optus last year at the carnival. I was there with some of the Vic Metro under 16's and a fellow coach , Waters was marking well and as solid in defence as you would like. One of the young kids asked who does he remind you of? In unison both myself ,and my coaching mate said Dean Solomon. Nothing of what I have seen of him thus far suggests otherwise.

So the prospect of him playing along side , San Quinten ( no prisoner escapes) and another attacking HBF does really excite me.

When we get some key position players coming through , then we will be a force.

Waters/Lynch/Nicoski
A rough and tough enforcer type HBF alongside a silky skilled playmaker HBF, with a big, strong marking, CHF colossus in between. Sounds like a certain other Eagles HB line I can recall... ;)

I thought Nicoski was named as an emergency and Glass wasnt named at all? Dont know where i got my team from?

Good to see Nicoski getting a game. All the youngsters are getting chances this year, let's hope we can still keep it together though. Cant believe Glass didnt come in?

What is Gardie's soul worth in the diabolical bargain context?

I'd say an injury free run for Gaspar as well as Trent Carroll playing good footy would be about the going rate?

trent carroll played well (very well for him) and gaspar has managed to play 1.5 games in the WAFL injury free.
