Team Vs Hawthorn

I know we won't know who we play until we see the winner of the hawks vs sydney game. However, thought i might as well kick the selection off and see if people think there will be different player/s picked depending on who we play.

I think if we play a buddyless Hawks we should give Taz a spell, had hamstring soreness of some type during the game last week, honestly can't find a matchup for him against the Hawks anyway.

Actually, i copied the GF2 team from last year and replaced Brown with Tarrant & Macaffer with Krakouer..

Mirrors and smoke IMO, might get up against us but he'll be nowhere near 100% unless the bone bruising was minimal, which i don't think it was, apparently a jab wont help either.

I don't think Didak's place in the squad is as certain as people think. It's possible he could be our sub next week.
We left him on for as long as possible last week and he didn't excel.
Fasolo is the new Didak, and this year's Blair. Give him the starting gig.

Agree, Didak will be asked to play more fwd now Daisys back, not sure he's up to it TBH, would prefer Fas for that role.

For what it's worth, Franklin has been named to play, with the only change to either team being Breust out for Stratton at the Hawks.

Now the question has to be asked;

Do we want Buddy to play or not?

Do we want him to play, and therefore aggravate that injury further, or do we want him to miss, and have him refreshed against us?

He may also play and play well, which would be of concern also.

I don't think we'll need to have different teams depending on who we play, too many of our players are flexible enough to play more than 1 role. We should select our best side regardless of who makes it through to next week and hopefully we get a good run into the GF. Let Hawthorn/Sydney worry about who to select when they play us!

I'd love to see Fasolo play (and not just because he wear's the great number 35 )- he has a real X factor and as we saw from last week, doesn't let the pressure of a big game get to him. That said, don't see who we'd leave out for him.

If he doesn't get in, really hope he gets his chance in the future

Yeah I would be upset if Fasolo didn't play but who do you get rid of is the question.

Daisy & hopefully Reid to come in. Goldsack will be dropped if Reid comes in but who for Daisy I have no idea Fasolo is the obvious choice.

Fas has almost had 2 weeks off as well considering he only played 5 minutes last week. But showed the big time did not phase him with that 5 minutes.

That smile when the siren sounded as he was having his shot at goal was a classic!

I don't think that anyone wants to sack the sack......but 24 doesnt go into 22....so someone is going to be very stiff (Sack, Fasolo, Blair...).
Sack has a prem medal already, so not a complete disaster for him.
Reid must come back in & Davis is a must (Davis basically replacing Sack from last year GF team)

Buddy wont play tonight IMO, not a chance, just makes no sense, if the Hawks can't get over the Swans without Buddy they aren't going to get over us with Buddy.

Who else goes out though? It's not that Goldy has been horrible, but I can't see who else goes.

Tarrant, Reid, O'Brein, Shaw, Johnson, Toovey, Davis and Maxy are all ahead of him as defenders. And that's already 8 right there! Goldy isn't going to get a game as a forward type ahead of Blair/Fasolo/Didak either, so unfortunately the Sack will just have to miss out.

Lucky Sack got his medal last year, but I wouldn't be surprised if he asked for a trade.
