Movie Ted

Of course you'd be expecting to laugh, but it seems people here went in with the mentality that it was going to be the funniest movie of all time.
It probably came from the fact that the funnier points of the movie were included in the trailer.

The last comedy I saw in the cinema was that one about the Best Men. Shocking movie overall, but it built up to the speech and I've never seen a theatre laugh harder. It seemed like McFarlane just wasn't at his usual best with regard to executing lines (that parsnip joke could have been juvenilely great). The adobe helicopter line was hilarious though.

Seems to be a lot of snobs around here. Get off your high horses. Was never gonna be the best movie ever.

Who said anything about best movie. Half the people here thing it was disappointing/average/meh. Why do you think that equates to to these people thinking it should have been best movie ever?

Can't you just accept at face value that many people thought it was pretty shit?

Afterall, i don't see any of the people here who thought it was disappointing getting upset with the people who enjoyed it. What gives?

Why? I agree with him, terrible movie that does seem targeted at immature school goers.

You're right to a point and that's certainly the way it seems on face value.

Just thought that some of the cultural references were very well handled and a few of the one-liners were very clever.
That alone doesn't amount to a great movie and probably not even a good one, but Ted is better than just for the lewd referencing.

What was the funniest movie of all time?

I can't even remember the last time I watched a quality comedy and Hangover certainly wasn't that, although Hangover 2 had one great scene.
Comedies to have a bad reputation as movies in general, yet still do a lot of money at the box office.

Not necessarily the funniest but I have not laughed harder in a cinema than when I watched Superbad.

Exactly. Much the same with films like Hot Rod. Ted was ok, it was just that the comedic timing was off the mark much of the time.

Expectations are the worst. I went seeing the movie with no expectations at all and ended up loving it! Did it's job and kept me entertained.

Give it 7.5/10 :)

Went and saw it. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Felt it was on par with the first... neither better nor worse.
The explanation of Kunis' charcter's absence was a bit of a cop out though considering her substantial role in the first, but I guess they were put into a corner with having her getting married off to Wahlberg's character at the end of the first, so they had no choice really.
The "dramatic" ending was predictable.

Do. Not have high hopes for the sequel. The court room scene and ted having to fight for his rights sounds too serious for a movie about a walking talking teddy bear. The original didnt. Take itself that seriously.
Didn't see previews but got worried when they entered the courtroom. (Why do so many American movies think this is entertaining???)

Whilst it did slow the momentum down a bit, fortunately they didn't spend too much time in there.

Overall I thought it was pretty funny, had a few laugh out loud moments, classic lowbrow humour.
