Haven't seen this kid play but I'm getting mighty excited to hear of his progress, to those that saw todays game...can you pls answer a few questions

where his goals from marks or in the play...
Can he kick both feet
Is he quick
Is he better than krak

who does he play like, McLeod or ronnie Burns:confused:

Is he a midfielder or HFF
Is he any good?

Thx for your help

Let me see,I reakon he is a dead ringer for Harpo Marx.

Someone told me about the second half said he looked good kicking 3 or 4 in 2nd half cant help you any more than that unfortunately. Maybe it will be replayed on ABC2 or something for those with Foxtel.

Plays similar to Nathan Brown but not as fit or hard working on the track.

Defensive pressure is also similar to Nathan Brown, unfortunately.

So there is a lot to work with :thumbsu: With Tambling and JON acting as good role models (OFF the field...) Collard is in the process of maturing but really just needs to work harder because he's a gun.

He likes Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain. He's not into yoga, but he is into champagne.

Excitment machine when near the ball, can go missing but can be developed, with the right attitude and fitness who could be a futre player but thats if he can get his act together. I've heard from many he is a nutcase though, therefore one of the reasons getting delisted at Freo

when he was picked up number 33 odd in 06 he was highly rated and ppl thought he was a steal, compared to David Armitage from Saints at one stage, also good mates with him aswell.

I reckon one more year on the rookie, he has deserved it just with late form

Will keep his spot on the rookie list for another year, still has a lot of fitness work to do
Has had far more on an impact with Coburg Seniors than the Reserves, hopefully he'll make the same improvement when stepping up to AFL level
The difference between Collard now and when we drafted him in December is MASSIVE, or at least he was massive, now he's not
He does need to develop the defensive side to his game, but he was so far behind everyone else from a fitness perspective at the start of the year, he just doesn't have the tank to chase both ways yet.
Has massive talent and is a natural replacement for Browny in a couple of years

He is good, real good. But what about that ****ing hair! Absolutely A+ material :thumbsu:

Needs another year...

Has good pace (read acceleration), but needs to work on his defensive side.

Looked good in patches for the Burgers... Think he'll only ever be a forward pocket or Half Forward Flank player.

Don't think he'll ever cut it as an onballer at AFL level.

Has big thighs for a little bloke! Mini Jurica!

And yeah... the hair!!! What's going on there? Blonde perm!?

The guy is very much like a young Jeff Farmer or even Paul Medhurst. Quick on the ground, deceptively strong overhead and knows where the goals are. I wouldn't be surprised if he is drafted by another side if he is not elevated and nominates for the draft. The bombers may be keen as he was good mates with Jetta as school boys and many rated him higher. The combination would be very dangerous around goal.

I have said he is in the top 5 most naturally talented at the club. All he needs to do is work on his fitness and defensive work and he will be a lethal weapon. I say elevate him and take the risk. He could easily become our Paul Medhurst. We picked him up for a bargain, we cannot afford to lose him.

And compared to Krak, Collard>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Krak.

Go to the Fremantle Board and search for a thread called 'Clayton Collard?' and have a read.

It also has pictures of him when he first rocked up to Punt Road, then pictures of him 6 months later and you can see he has developed from a chubby softie to being ripped and fit.

The 'nutcase' stories from Freo could be taken in a few ways. As a person, he is pretty quiet and shy (like Krak). In Perth he had a large group of family members and 'friends' leeching off the money he was making as a first year footballer, they all lived with him and they were nutcases by all reports... getting him out of that destructive environment and putting him around people like Tambling and JON has seen a huge turn in behaviour.

He has essentially spent a whole year trying to catch up to the bare basic fitness you need to START your football career, so after all the hard work he has only made it to the beginning.

If he puts his head down over the next 6 months and stay shoulder to shoulder with Richard Tambling then we really do not need to worry about Nathan Brown hanging up the boots ;)

Dont no what he got up to at Freo, but just a comparison.

I
thats not possible, he's a listed/contracted rookie with us for 2 years unless he's sacked...I would think he will continue as a rookie with every chance of being the first one elevated should their be a chance with Long term injury

My bad B17. I bow to your superior knowledge in this area! Thanks.

skillful kid with some serious football ability. One thing i worry is the lack of acceleration from off the mark, but he makes up for it by being such a natural footballer IMO.
