The Telstra Premiership Rugby League Road Train is experiencing another memorable tour this season with big numbers visiting, as the National Rugby League and Telstra continue their commitment to regional Australia.
Since it hit the road in May the Telstra Road Train has made 22 appearances in areas including the NSW North Coast, Central and Western Queensland, and Sydney, with well over 10,000 visitors already passing through the doors.
After a very successful 3 days at the Toowoomba Farmfest recently, the number of visitors has now reached around 12,500 and rising!
The Telstra Road Train continues to provide an all-important link for young and old fans alike, with something for everyone, including:
- Rugby League’s Greatest Moments (Video & Audio)
- NRL Stats
- Telstra Interactive centre
- Xbox games
- Awesome Memorabilia
The Telstra Road Train will be making a number of appearances in July, including:
- Cabramatta (Aust U15 Championships) July 4
- Sydney Showground (Bulldogs v Newcastle) July 6
- Forster (NSW State of Origin team training) July 9 &10
- Mudgee (Mudgee Field Day) July 18 & 19
- Aussie Stadium (Aust v N.Z Test) July 25
- Jindabyne, July 30 & 31
Inside the Telstra Road Train…
* Rugby League’s Greatest Moments: Re-live five of the greatest moments in Rugby League history through our special audio-visual displays. The 1989 Grand Final between Canberra and Balmain, the 1997 Grand Final between Newcastle and Manly, and the 1999 Grand Final between Melbourne and St George Illawarra all feature on our giant plasma screens. You can also re-live the second Ashes Test from 1990, and game 1 of the 1994 State of Origin series through our special audio features.
* NRL Stats: Just like the coaches and players who use it themselves, the NRL stats computer will give you the opportunity to find out individual players’ game strengths and weaknesses. Check out some of the great tries, tackles, hit-ups and breaks of your favourite team and players.
* Telstra Interactive Communication Centre: This area gives you the opportunity to surf the Telstra Premiership Rugby League Road Train’s website at www.roadtrain.nrl.com …you can also enter the ‘online’ competition.
* Xbox: Your opportunity to check out the NRL’s new Xbox game, which won’t be released in stores until later this year…plus ‘kickin’ the balls’ – the great Xbox kicking game.
* Memorabilia: Items on board include - the Telstra Premiership Trophy, the State of Origin Shield, the Ashes Trophy, the three Dally M Medals won by Andrew Johns, and Craig Fitzgibbon’s Clive Churchill Medal from last year’s Grand Final.
