RED GROUP
Roddick (5) def Davydenko (4) 6-3 4-6 6-2
Gonzalez (7) def Federer (1) 3-6 7-6(1) 7-5

GOLD GROUP
Nadal (2) def Gasquet (8) 3-6 6-3 6-4
Ferrer (6) def Djokovic (3) 6-4 6-4

David Ferrer d Rafael Nadal 4-6 6-4 6-3

Richard Gasquet d Novak Djokovic 6-4 6-2

Djokovic is the first person out of the tournament. Even if he beats Rafa and Ferrer beats Gasquet he will not have won enough sets to get through to the next round like Nalbandian did last year. (Nalbandian lost in 3 to Federer and Ljulbicic but beat Roddick to get through on sets against Andy and Ivan on one win each).

Ferrer should beat Gasquet next and Nadal should beat Novak, making Ferrer the group winner and Rafa the group runner up, both progressing to the semi-finals.

Roger I think may struggle against Andy and even depending on results two wins may not guarantee a spot in the semis. I however think he will get through with two wins over Andy and Nikolay. Assuming that Nikolay dosent win a match and that Andy beats Gonzo three players will be tied on 2 wins. However the group is still wide open and anthing can happen.

Also Paul Hanley won his match in the doubles today 7-6 6-4 moving him to 3rd in his group with a game to play with a 1-1 record 3 set wins to 2

Federer is going to be breathing fire at Davydenko and Roddick. Watch for Davydenko to make alot of DFs tonight with the intense pressure that Roger will put on the return of serve, I think he will make alot of return winners early on.

Federer couldnt possibly go out before the semis...could he?

Don't think so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fed V Ferrer. Roger wins when it matters now.His concentration is beginning to let him down in lesser tournaments and that is a bad habit which might just give Ferrer a chance in the final but with 750 points and a 4th in in 5 in "the 5th slam" at stake Roger should be alert enough to win it.

Federer wins it in the end all rather easily 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 over Ferrer. Federer is simply to good for everyone except Safin at his outrageous best or Nadal on clay. I feel privileged to watch the man play
