On tonights news, word is that Terry Wallace is suing the Bulldogs for unpaid salary and could part with the club immediately.

Beleive it when I see it, but it'd be great news for the Dockers.

This is great news to me. I would be absolutely stoked to have Wallace at freo. He would get my preference over Eade anyday.

Whether it will happen is another question:confused:
One thing that is certain though, is that some of the clubs in the AFL are really struggling financially.

well sorry to spoil this but wallace has been paid and he has said before that he wont break his contract
hopefully he sees what a great future freo has and decides to break his contract this once
i mean if eddie mcguire says freo has a great list then we must have a great list which we do

I was thinking of the 2002 season for Wallace. I would not bring him in till the board has been made to walk the plank anyway.

What does everyone think about Dermies coaching ability? He would be a wildcard for the coaching spot.

Racer, what qualifications does Derm have to coach, apart from coaching Australia in the International Rules series. I thought everyone at Fremantle was after a tried and proven coach. Plus I can't see Dermie moving out of Victoria, leaving his position at Hawthorn and Channel7/9 if he goes there next year.

Dermie has bugger all qualifications outside those you mentioned: international games, his extensive experiences as a player, and his current position at Hawthorn. I guess most people feel that his gift of the gab combined with his playing experiences give him great potential.

I don't think he would have a problem leaving Vic. $850 K combined with his recent divorce might be enough reason for him to put his hand up for the spot. I heard Elliot say on the footy show ages ago that Dernie would not get into coaching because of his wife.

IMO Freo would be taking a significant risk giving the coaching spot to someone like him or Woosher.

Brereton's name has been mentioned a few times. I think he'd make a great coach but as we know the Dockers are looking for someone with a proven track record. If such a coach can't be lured to Freo then Dermie would be a great option.

wallace's contract ends at the end of 2004 so the chances of freo getting him before 2004 are very slim unless of course freo drop out of the afl until then just to get a coach
so i'd say it is between eade dermot and whoever else puts their hand up

As someone said to me at the West Perth game today, Freo should pick up Woosha and give him a go for a couple of years instead of wasting all that money on Eade, who has presided over the decline of a good list and made some pretty ordinary acquisitions.

If it works out, great. If it doesn't, at least you'll have given a local hero a try (and won't kop too much criticism for it), retained some sponsors and some support and in the meantime you can work on Wallace for 2004, by which time he'll be sick of the Bulldogs making the Finals then falling over.

I hope you don't do this as I want Woosha back at the Eagles, but you could do a lot worse.

I personally think that the Dockers need an expreienced coach. If Stan Alves wanted to coach, I think he would be good, I still don't know why the Saints sacked him, he got them into the GF the season before. But they can't go for an un proven coach, as they can ill afford another flop. I hope they can get up with a new coach and new board members.

The Eagles can have Terry Wallace - send Judgey over to Fremantle, we can appreciate his talent.

we do want a proven coach but i think we'd prefer wallace over judgey no offence to his coach

but if wallace went to the eagles and judgey came to freo i will give him full support just like the true passionate supporter i am

My Dad and I thought Judgey should have got the job in the first place, ie instead of neesham. Right now, I'm not that unhappy with Judgey, he is finally getting some passion and form out of the players, and now his game plan is being followed we are playing much better footy, so, we'll keep him!
