Id just thought id like to say how proud I am to be a roos supporter and soon to be senior member! Living in adelaide i cop allot of **** about being a roos fan, but i just laugh it off and no they are jealous that the teams they go for(crows or port) are more bussinesses then clubs, and that there players think they are a class above them, at north the players love to mix with the fans, after the roos beat the crows at footy park this year, the players were pretty much hugging me as they came off the ground, and even arch had a go at a bloke who had a go about the carey drama, the bloke shat em wen arch had a go! im keen to go to melbourne this year....roos vs essendon game and wanna know if any1s keen for a meet up as ive never been to a game where theres more then 200 roos fans HAHA so if any1s keen let us know...

Good on ya mate, like I must say to many people when they go on about how many fans they have ( Collingwood & Richmond mainly but Carlton & Essendon can be thrown in as well) I say back to them which team gives you best value for money & they ALL shut up.

Keep an eye on this board when you are heading over, there are often BF get-togethers. I never go, I'm too antisocial, but they do seem to happen regularly during the season! You'd also have a fair chance of meeting up with BFers if you dropped in on training at Arden St while you were here.

I must say I am a proud North supporter as my family all go for Hawthorn but dad, one of my nieces and me. My boyfriend goes for Essendon and there all the same arrogant and he has tried to change me but I am always sticking with the mighty Roo boys. I have been following them since I was 11 and now I am 26, I have seen the 2 out of 4 flags. I can say we may have 4 flags but we have the strongest supporter bases and we have the gold cup that no-one can take off us.

You said it possum35, no one else has it & boy does the light reflect great off it. I often sit back & laugh to myself in my livingroom at the computer at negative comments from Sydney supporters about us, it must really hurt them not to have won that gold cup.

Anothing thing is the Bummers still going on about 1999, how the flag should have been theirs, at the end of the day we won the last cup of the millennium as well, no one can take that historical cup off us well.

No, we didn't. The end of the millenium was on Dec 31 2000, so technically the Bombers were the winners of the last cup.

I like to think of it being 1999 as the last of the millenium because that was when all the big fan fare of the big celebrations occured etc.

I know how you feel, there is the same ratio type in Perth with only two local football lcubs, West Coast an enourmous fan base, and Fremantle are doing very well for themselves right now considering they joined less than a decade ago.

But who out there comes from good 'ol WA?

Geez Possum i wouldnt go that far in saying weve got the strongest support base!!!
Its gettin their but its nowhere near the size of Collingwoods.

I was aat the Noth v Collingwood debacle, and the crowd of 53,000, was a good figure, but we contributed about 15,000 of them, or so it seamed beacuse they scored goals all too quickly.

Maybe a bit of both, it was a shocker. I thought the crowd was 18,000- 20,000 ours and 33,000 to 35,000 Collingwood's.

Well, considering I've never been to a game outside of Victoria, I'd have to say that Brisbane supporters are the worst out of the interstaters (mind you, I've never been to a crows game either).
So, anyway, the Brisbane supporters just kept on yelling abuse every time Carey, Abraham and a few others got the ball. They were calling Abraham 'casino boy' and the names they were calling Carey were just too crude to write on here.

But having said that, I'd rather Brisbane supporters over Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton supporters anyday
