Now that i have stopped crying, I just want to say a big thanks to thePlayers who throughout the season have battled their guts out for the StKilda footy club. A lot of people had written them off halfway through the season but they rallied and ended up 4th on the ladder. As an interstate full social club member they were able to beat my most hated 2 teams in Port and Crows. I was lucky enough to see the saints live in melb in round 1 v syd, 21 v crows andbsemi final v coll . I was allso at the GF of the NAB cup. So although we crashed out of the finals race tonight i am still very proud of my club and the guys that have stood up. This will be a great learning curve for raph, gwilt, jonesy, gilbo, rob eddy , mini and all the other younger guys. Im not one to want to get rid of any player as some are but i do want Fiora gone. I think Ross has done a great job to get us into the top 4 this season and hope we can learn from this season and have a good holiday and hit the pre season full of confidence. :thumbsu:

Yeah can't beat the Saints' spirit after Rnd 12.

A couple of blokes clearly gave it everything they possibly could and should be admired for picking our season up out of the dirt.

Especially:

Riewoldt
Goddard
Hudghton
Harvey
Blake
King
Hayes

And well done to Raph for a huge finish to the season. And not just the last two matches. He became better each week starting from the Port Adelaide match.

Great post. Once you look past the dissapointment and of course the emotion of saying goodbye to Harvs, it is great to look back on the season. We didnt win the flag so we cannot call the season a complete success, but 4th is a great effort considering where we were at. People had their doubts, questioned the passion and halfway were saying that no player had improved under Ross Lyon. Well have a look at the end of the season and it is impossible to say the same. We played with passion, leadership and run. It was a rollercoaster season but one which i enjoyed. Still hard to believe its over for another year and we will never see Harvs out there again. The improvement in the last half of the season was promising. Brendan Goddard was possibly the most improved player this year and I no longer worry when Raph has the ball.
Hopefully no injuries for the pre season and we come back to ride another rollercoaster next year, hopefully ending a little higher than the way we finished it this year.
