In all likelihood we just saw The Bald Eagle play his last game tonight. He's been a whipping boy for many over the years, but if anyone wants to have a crack at him for his wonderful contribution to our footy club then they are ****ing kidding themselves! Congratulations Nathan for all that you have achieved. Good luck and best wishes for whatever the future brings and know that you will always be welcome at the Whitten Oval in the years ahead. Well done and thanks! :thumbsu:

I'll second that. Not a big influence tonight but has been a good club servant, played many good games. Showed lots of grit to get back into the side when it looked like he was gone earlier in the season. Thanks for your years of service, Eago.

At his best he was very valuable.

Is a barometer for our team though - great against the poor teams, completely rubbish against decent opposition.

Good long servant that got the most out of himself. Definitely time to retire.

anyone who plays over 250 games at the elite level is a champion

it was sad seeing him crying in johnno's arms after the game - looks like it really got to him losing tonite with the realisation that its all over :(

Yeah great effort Eago. Very unfairly targeted by many but he always played out his role in the side. Sad to see him go, if he indeed does

Good bloke off the field too.

Amazing to think he almost died on the field in his first season, yet came back to play ~250 more games.

Yeah, that was really sad to watch :(

Well done Eagleton on a great career. Has definately achieved the best he could and that is all you can ask. Was a great player for us.

And what I really loved about him was his character this year. Went around again this year on absolute minimum money. Was dropped during the year and didn't sook about it once. Played the VFL games to the best of his ability and when brought back into the seniors, played his natural game without missing a beat. A real team effort and an example of putting the team before individual ego. A low maintenance player. I admire him for that. Well done Eagle :thumbsu:

He obviously has a great love for the club and has represented it and us very well throughout the years. Thanks for your efforts Eagle.

every team needs a player like Eagleton, yes he was a whipping boy and maybe a downhill skier at times but watching him in full flight banging goals from 50 when we were putting teams to the sword was great.

all the best for retirement Nath :thumbsu:

Was sad to see the emotion with Johhno after the match Showed class by staying out of Johnnos' limelight. Tried hard whenever he played and that is all you can ask

Addison will miss him will be the lone escape goat now

Well said, completely agree. A modest, hard-working team man, unlike others no longer with us. Very well-liked at the club too, I believe. Thanks and good luck for the future, Nathan.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. ;)

Cheap shot not needed in this thread. The wink doesn't excuse you.

Well done Eagle - a great servant of the club over 11 seasons and a quiet achiever. I've been a critic at various stages in the past but those goals from outside 50 always lifted my spirits :thumbsu::thumbsu:
