Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad... Langer got a terrible decision but another day he will be out and given not out so it all evens out in the long run.

Hayden's was doubtful as well.

Pontings was out, Hayden could have gone either way, Langers was dodgy.

Not like Australia have never received a dodgy LBW in this series, test, day.

Moomba

Lets not forget that Vaughen was given out LBW earlier today when the ball was pitching miles outside the line. He was on target to make 200 so it goes both ways

i dont think the umpires should be let off the hook because it goes both ways. they were rank amateur decisions, and those two continue to get it wrong. they need to be scrubbed from the international circuit.

i tend to think in the washup of it all, this test will be remembered for steve waugh's century, and how a fantastic test match finish was spoiled by dodgy umpiring.

Yep fully agree the umpire should be scrubbed butwhat i was saying that both teams have been hard done by with bad decisions and not just Australia

The ball's allowed to pitch outside off, the problem with the Vaughan decision was the height, but anyway......

Let's face it. Umpires Orchard and Tiffin are not up to standard, they appear to have little knowledge of the LBW law, and they cannot hear clean edges off the bat. They have tried to destroy two great Test matches, and if I never see either of them umpire again it will be too soon.

I should think Steve Waugh will be satisfied with that, anyway. He always says that you get a few dodgy decisions here and there, which is why you don't walk even if you know you're out.

So it all evens up.

We only seem to bleat like motherless lambs when things aren't going our way. The decision against Trescothick in the Melbourne test could easily have changed the entire outcome of the match, considering where England were placed at the time, and how it ended up. For the decision against Langer to change the course of this match would seem unlikely. It could happen, but even so that just evens it all up to my mind.

If we could all try to remember that there are two teams out there, and both have had their share of bad luck, that'd be a good start.
