Three shots at goal that cost us the game were inexcusable and there is no doubt what the focus will be next training.

Despite that we were treated to what I consider the game of the season thus far. It was a highly competative and relatively fair game in comparison to our last encounter at AAMI.

Sampi, hold your head up high, you are a young champion, so cool at the decisive moments and Chris Judd, ditto.

Kudos to Lynch for not completely getting belted by Treddders who really did not have the influence expected by many.

Isn't it a pity that a useless piece of woodwork can have so much say in one of the best games you will likely see this season.

Opinions please?

While I would love to be wrong on this, I don't expect Tredrea to have all that many games where he does better than kick 5 goals and have 20+ possessions.

Your defence needs work and you need a tall forward but your midfield is right up there with Brisbane's IMO. And to think people used to call us a pacy team?

Bad kicking cost you in the second half, and I think we were lucky to get away with it. Sampi will be a champ, we just didn't have anyone to go with him. Matera beat Gav early but Gav did ok in the second half. Lynch did well I thought but Tredrea is one of the best, when he kicks straight.

Lynch got belted, but he won a few contests and shows plenty of potential so we've just got to stick with him. Does need to make better second efforts though.

Kasey Green? How does this guy get a game at the moment? Went to ground three times and is soft as butter in a pack situation.

Our tall foward took himself out trying to hit one of your players:rolleyes: Kamikaze move

i don't expect tredrea to have to many games playing on a guy with only one year of experience.

tredrea had a great game but it could have easily been an awesome game. lynch is still learning the trade. he has a very long way to go but hopefully he will improve because of tonights game.

Byron would happy that he isnt the only one ;)

I say we should all meet up at 2am and chainsaw every single goalpost at Subiaco Oval into 1cm cubes! I couldn't believe Cox, Embley and Fido all hit the post at such a short range!

Can't make excuses - Port were far too good and deserved to win. Tredrea eats us up every game, next time he's in Perth we need an insider hotel staff to curry up his dinner.

You'll probably find we lost it fair and square actually. PS Your mouth exceeds your knowledge.

i made that quote in reference to Ripper saying the Eagles stole the game of Dogs, we did win fair and square as Port did, so your lack of forsight exceeds you abruptness

Bomb it long!!

Ok, so once we lost our tall forward why did we continue to bomb it high into the forward line??

The players must've decided the game strategy coz in the end Woosha had to chuck Coxy up there just so we had some height!

OK, OK, I know even when we got the bloody thing we hit the post (they were three feet wide tonight right?) but really....

I was happy with Lynch's game. I would rather let Tredrea kick 5 and have 20+ disposals than have 10 or 12 disposals yet kick 9 or 10 goals.

Tredrea did a lot of leading up the ground and took a lot of grabs but he didnt hurt us as much on the scoreboard as I thought he would.

Still he was the difference and Lynch will learn.

I believe it was Fido, Cox and Judd that hit the post. Frustrating. It was Coxy's shot that hurt us the most, we had all the momentum and had he slotted that one through it would have been just 3 points. I think from the resulting kickin from the poster, they went the length of the field, marked and goaled. So it certainly was a gamechanger.

You lost it sunshine simply because of the poor return on the number of scoring opportunities. Have a look at the number of times they had it in the forward 50. The won't win games regularly as long as they have to rely on two dwarfs to kick the bulk of the goals.

Perhaps if you looked further up the thread, you would have realised that the game in question was the BULLDOGS game, not the PORT game. It was already pointed out once.

And as for winning regularly, well we had a pretty good record last season with the smallest man in the league as our leading goalkicker.

Ummm, you do realise Tredrea is a CHF and not a FF jod23 ? Those 20 disposals included 7 into the forward 50m area - the game high. That he kicked 5 goals and that he got it into the forward line more then anyone else on the ground is the reason Tredrea's game was so good and Lynch got spanked.

Seeing replays of the missed opportunities is sooo frustrating!! We had our chances but we didn't take them. But we must learn that playing catch-up is too hard you need to start out on top and continue on. Can't expect to always win by coming from behind. We did against dogs but thats not always gonna happen. But to the boys credit they never do give up and thats something to be proud of but in the end its the lead the other team are able to get to in the first place that ends up hurting us.

Thou let's not dwell, still 20 rounds to go and I know we are on our way up!!

GO EAGLES!! :D
