Was reading the herald Sun on Saturday about the adverister doing a deal to have one of the ends name after the advertisier newspaper.I was wondering who else has heard this. And I was also wondering what you all thought of this i think its certainly something different and kin of kind of takes sponsorship to a new level doesnt it.

I saw something down at Footy Park today (it could've been on the scoreboard) saying "Kick a goal at The Advertiser end". I wondered what it meant, but tonight I've just watched the re-play and the northern goal post is covered in "Advertiser" signs!

That's the first I knew of any sponsorship deal.

BTW, the Crows dancing girls are now sponsored by Coke, and the half-time mini-league games are also sponsored! Signs, signs, everywhere you look there are sponsor signs

Not that I mind them throwing money at us but why in heaven's name does the Advertiser need to advertise(pardon the pun) so much. It's a one paper town? If you don't buy the Advertiser you can buy.......the Advertiser?????

I guess that's the whole thing: if you don't buy the Advertiser, you don't buy anything, and they want you to buy it!!! I guess you could be buying The Australian, though.

Where is our tradition??

The Ends should be named the Bickley end and the McLeod end!!

Unfortunately, it is not our ground, we are tennants. Just as I can't renovate my appartment without permission.....etc

For a ground that has:
1. No grandstand names.
2. No 'end' names.
3. 'Dry' seating *gnash gnash gnarl*
4. Swear nazi's.
5. Until recently, crappy public transport links.
6. No gen-admission (ie ticketed seating).
7. No terracing.

I sometimes wonder why I remember the place so fondly.

Cheers,

Kasey

I realise this

However

No Crows - No SANFL

I think its about time we flexed our muscles

The stands should be named to create some tradition.

SANFL legends could get both wings and a Crows and Port person could get either end.
