It was obvious today that the Bont was targeted for some "special attention" from the Crows and that is not surprising. I was wondering if anyone else saw what I think I saw. At one point it looked as though Bont was pinballed into Rory Sloane and the commentators made that point, but go back and watch what happens after Bont hit the deck. It looked as though Walker I think it was, accidently "landed" on Bont elbow first. Interested if anyone else caught it?

He copped a forearm to the back of the head off the ball right in front of us. I think it was Thomson who got him. He looked up had a little glare as if to say 'I'll keep that in the memory bank.' He cannot be rattled. Can't wait to watch the replay

I noticed he was getting whacked at the centre bounce by the Crows mids. Saw one where he gave one back to Thompson then ripped it out of the middle and kicked that long running point... was happy with that response

I know it's not about Bont but I suggest you all watch Talia on Boyd. At every contest and I mean Every Boyd went for the mark one handed with it mostly being his left arm due to Talia holding his right arm on every occasion. It was blatantly obvious but Boyd didn't get a single free kick. He still battled hard kicked 2 and set up plenty of goals due to his tap downs but man it's scary once Boyd starts to get looked after by the umps.

Yeah, I want to get on the bad side of a guy who runs like the wind, will add 5kgs to his frame in the next year or two to be a KPP sized midfielder and is the most exciting youngster in the game who laid 20 tackles in the first two weeks.

Great tactic Crows, worked a treat :thumbsu:

I agree , it is outrageous how some blokes are so well looked after , Boyd was hung off or sheparded away from the contest at every time it went near him. How many frees did he get ?

It's strange when he runs away from guys! It looks like he is slow, but it is his long strides that make him look slow when he's not. Funny watching the guy behind having their legs go flat out while Bont looks like he is going for a Sunday stroll :P

Pretty inspirational the way he goes about his footy. Everyone seems to forget he's only a 19yr old, and yet he cops the hard tag every week. Can't wait 'til he's 25+ & maybe has a couple of shiny medals ;)

Yeah Thompson was hitting him at every chance. Nothing wrong with that little cheap stuff. He should expect that each week, just wait til he fills out, then there will be no more.

Also noted bonts 17 possessions > Thompsons 38. That hurts more lol

its true but as soon as Boyd tangles arms there wont be a free kick. He needs to run at the ball with both arms up, he will never win a one on one standing still at his age and strength

There would be some argument to say that Bont had more influence on the game with his 17 possies than Thompson did with his 38.

not the slightest concerned.. Unlike precious Ryan, the Bont machine will learn to shake tags quicker than Griffen ever did.

Also, for Thompsons 38 possessions - what exactly did that provide Adelaide? They had far too many downhill skiiers yesterday, Sloane was the major culprit. BTW, who was on Sloane? I couldnt tell because whoever it was, they did a fantastic job

We just seemed to play our own game yesterday. Didn't seem too concerned about nullifying Sloan or Danger and just focused on beating them to the ball and then intercepting off half back. Non of their stars had any run-with players on them for any extended period, we were just that dominant around the ground. Bevo's game plan from the get go.

Stevens spent a majority of time on him by the looks of the replay.

Yep - mentioned in media reports too.
No hard tags, but Wood spent plenty of time on Danger when he went forward, Stevens took Sloane when in the middle and JJ took Betts who did nothing until it was junktime.
